Video -- '60 Minutes' Reports On The Dangerous City Of Ramadi
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 10:46 AM by Mark Williams

'60 Minutes' Video Link

This report by Scott Pelley originally aired in January of 2005 when Marines were under fire in the Anbar province.

This report was a top-notch account of what goes on their. A cameraman was riding with an armored humvee and an IED exploded and the camera suddenly stopped due to the tremendous blast.

The report also included several amazing and saddening stories. The insurgents are using a campaign of fear and intimidation.
A soldier who was interviewed by the CBS reporter told the camera that Ramadi was going on it's third governor. The soldier also told the camera that a doctor who accepted supplies from the Americans was killed. Even the man who collected the trash from the American base was killed by the insurgents.

What really got to me was when the Captain that helped the CBS reporter better understand combat life was killed in a suicide blast.

Near the end of the report it just makes you feel like our men and women in uniform are paying the ultimate price for no reason. These people don't want us there yet according to Bush and the administration we are making progress. Watch this report and then tell me the progress that you see...

1. Truly sick...
As if this was going to all lead up to something. These guys are dying everyday and for what? To wait out the insurgents? Till the police and Iraqi military are fully trained? It's going to be just like this, everyday for these kids, for the next several years. Think of the mental condition these men will have to deal with. They should be brought home NOW!!!!
