Ft. Bragg VIGIL
Passing this on............

From: Military Families Speak Out
Sent: Jun 24, 2005 1:24 PM
To: MFSO
Subject: Invitation to Events on June 28 in
Fayetteville!

Dear Military Families in North Carolina,

We just heard from North Carolina MFSO member Stan
Goff that President Bush will be coming to Ft. Bragg to do a rah-rah war speech and get a photo op with soldiers on Tuesday, June 28th.

The Quaker House, working with Military Families Speak Out, Veterans
for Peace, Iraq Veterans Against the War and others, are planning
a series of activities on Tuesday, June 28th with the theme "Support Our Troops - Bring Them Home NOW and take care of them when they get here!":

1 p.m. Press Conference at the Quaker House (plan to get there
around noon) (Quaker House, 223 Hillside Ave., Fayetteville, NC
28301; 910-323-3912)

NOTE: if you are interested in speaking at the press conference
(this would just be a short presentation, not a long speech -- and it
would be good for the press to hear from military families!) -- please contact MFSO Member Lou Plummer right away at 910-433-9053 (his email address is lou.plummer@...)

2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Making Signs at the Quaker House

This will be open to the press. People will be updating boards
regarding those who have been killed and wounded in the war in Iraq,
making signs to carry at the vigil, etc.

5 p.m.: Vigil at Market House (on Hay Street in Fayetteville)

You are invited to participate in as many of the events on Tuesday
June 28th as you are able to.

This date (June 28th) is the one-year anniversary of the so-called "transfer of power" in Iraq (we've called it the "transfer of
paper" since 140,000 of our troops are still there....) As we all know, violence in Iraq is on the increase.

It is past time to end this war based on lies and BRING OUR TROOPS
HOME NOW (and take care of them when they get here!)

We hope there will be lots of press coverage for the events above
and that the voice of Military Families Speak Out is heard loud and
clear across the country!

In Peace and Solidarity,
Nancy Lessin and Charley Richardson

1. Wish I lived on the east coast, I'd try to be there...
Kicked and recommended- this is one vigil/demonstration/protest that has a chance at being covered by the MSM!

9. Media Blast it!
I just sent the info to all the local / regional news outlets, asking them to cover the events.

The more requests they get, the better!
