Info here re: Wilson's credibility and the 9/11 commission and panel
I had been hearing some Repugs say that the 9/11 Commission totally dissed Wilson and the Niger report. I wasn't buying it so looked around a bit and found this:

http://politus.blogspot.com/2004/11/911-commission-report.html

<snip>
I finally got around to reading the 9/11 Commission Report. One of the things I was interested in finding was the part that debunked Joe Wilson. After all, I had heard over and over from wingnuts that the 9/11 Commission had "discredited" and "disgraced" Wilson.
...
The 9/11 Commission Report never mentions Wilson or the Niger/yellowcake fiasco....Evidently the wingers are confusing the 9/11 Commission report with the Senate Intelligence Committee report about 9/11, two completely different documents. But, the Senate 9/11 Report also did not debunk Wilson. The only criticism of Wilson came from a partisan addendum to the report tacked on by Pat Roberts, Chris Bond, and Orrin Hatch.

The addendum never even attempted to dispute Wilson’s main message that 1) The CIA had sent him to check it out, 2) He investigated in Niger, and informed the CIA that it was highly unlikely that Niger had sold yellowcake to Iraq, and 3) He was alarmed that the whole thing ended up in Bush’s laundry list of phony pretenses for war in his State of the Union address. How has Joe Wilson been discredited in the least?
</snip>

There's more that's of considerable interest in this blog.

I was glad to find this.

3. Tell it to Tim Russert,
He re-hashed the "bi-partisan 9/11 commission" lie on MTP yesterday.

5. Kudos to you for tracking this down. Typical Rovian windbag fart.
Didn't mean to be obscure (or scatological). It's my theory that Rove's vaunted P.R. genius is stuff and nonsense. His P.R. efforts are merely a windbag machine for stolen elections. They "win" by hook and by crook, and then get to crow to the news monopolies about their "invisible" get out the vote campaign, and their latest, abominable, rightwing policy that 60% to 70% of Americans disagree with, and the activities and profound cogitations of their boy Bush, whom only 40% of Americans approve of, and whose war on Iraq FIFTY-EIGHT PERCENT of Americans opposed BEFORE the invasion (I'll never forget that stat), and all this utter babble written by Rove gets trumpeted by the war profiteering news monopolies.

And this is called Rove's "genius."

I mean, how difficult is it to feed false, lying, evil, twisted, self-serving, stupid, pod people "talking points" to the lapdog press?

(Um, pod people - "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" - mindless repetition of simple, pre-programmed thoughts and propaganda points implanted in human beings who have been taken over by an alien civilization. I.e., Orrin Hatch.)

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
by Ambassador Joe Wilson

Ambassador Joe Wilson forwarded to BuzzFlash his response to the Senate Select Intelligence Committee's "conclusions" about his efforts to expose the truth about the phony Niger claims, and how he came to investigate them.

He asked that we share his evidence with our readers.

9. thanks, emulatorloo
That link wrapped it all up. We shouldn't let the Repugs get away with the lies about Wilson. The record is clear.
