Remember : Iraq = Viet Nam, just before we went to war?

This war is beginning to remind me of how Viet Nam dragged on and on and no progress was made but the body count kept rising. Some of the excuses that were used then for staying are being used now. This is the type of nightmare I don't want to have again.

The numbers are indeed climbing. Looks like about 1967 to me. I think the nightmare is more sophisticated, but we are reliving it. Thanks for a good post.

3. I was out there in 67! Sit-ins, protests, Jack-booted thugs rounding

us up. Went to jail 7 times. That is why they won't bring back the draft. We saw ourselves being forced to be a statistic. Our young men today want to live as much as they did back then. That's why recruitment is so low. No one wants to die.

2. many similarities

that dreadful feeling that my government was lying to us and killing innocent civilians who posed no threat to our security. the main differences today are Gitmo and AbuGhraib etc, no draft as yet, and our sacred internet connections for truth. FBI files on protesters really reminds me of those days.....
