If Fitzgerald hands down Indictments before Roberts is Confirmed
This would through a major wrench into the conformation process.
The implications of a conspiracy and coverup
would put into question for the public
the rational of almost any of the bushenfurhers decisions.

The rational for the war in Iraq and everything they have conspired and lied about will become apparent and that would have to question the legitimacy , integrity and competence of this regime in the public's mind.

1. If that happens .... all bets are off.
Bush will be in Nixon territory.

Nothing will get done.

His apologists will lay off and lay low.

Everyone on 'his team' will worry about thier own sorry asses in 06.

The house of cards will shake if not tumble.

Roberts could get lost in the shuffle.

3. I agree all bets are off and I think the nomination was a delaying
tactic, because indictments are definitely coming and not to just a few.

You are right its a "house of cards"
so delaying and dragging out the nomination process
is an option that needs to be looked at.

12. "His apologists will lay off and lay low."
For some reason, I doubt that.

Republican apologists have become masters of their craft.

Bush could stand in the clock tower at the University of Texas and, Charles Whitman-style, pick off passers-by.

The apologists would say the passers-by were known terrorists.

2. Dems should ask Roveberts what he thinks about outing CIA agents...
...and whether he considers that a high crime.

5. His responce and other such lines of questioning to Roberts
Would play into the media hands by tying the whole traitor-gate affair into the nomination and a great card to play.

6. Well, with multiple impeachments looming...
It's just gotta be asked.

Hey, Georgie. How many unindicted co-conspirators on your block?

7. I'm wondering about what must be going on in Fitzgerald's mind...
As the evidence is mounting against this administration of thugs, a lifetime SC nominee of their choice is being selected, with a Republican majority in the Senate.

Would be nice if he could speed up the indictments.

8. Does anyone know the time frame? I heard October for the conformation
and the indictments late August early September.

10. The Grand Jury has an October deadline
to finish their investigation. Unfortunately, Fitzgerald could always ask for an extension because he's getting into more then just the outing of a CIA operative and needs more time.
