What damages did you incur for having a democratic sign/sticker?
Alright this one came out of the last post about the most f****d up republican bumper sticker. I decided to make another to have everyone talk about what damages did you incur for having democratic (Kerry/Edwards, Dean, etc) sign or sticker on your car or house.

I wanna hear stories.

As for me, my car was keyed and egged. I also had gone through 3 front lawn signs, all were stolen.

1. Just put my CLARK08 license plate on Tues. and got rear ended
yesterday, with all my anti-GOP regalia blazing (FW oval and Is your yellow ribbon buying them more body armor?)

Just coincidental accident, guy behind me got hit first and caused chain reaction. But I wondered if KARMA was somehow involved?

64. Oh, GOD - I LOVE that bumper sticker!
"Is your yellow ribbon buying them more body armor?"

I hollered over to a guy in the next car at a stop light - how much I liked his bumper stickers. He had one that said "Support bush's war. Draft young Republicans." And another that had "Moral Values?" on one side, and a list of lovely GOP attributes like Lies, Greed, Hypocrisy, War-Mongering, and a few more.

And yes, I've had reaction to mine: car was keyed shortly after I put them on. And it was a new car, too.

Also, driving through Altadena (inland suburb of L.A. - evidently filled with knuckledraggers) when some guy sped past me and turned around (to face me, behind him, rather than the road ahead of him) and yelled something presumably obscene while flipping me off rawther violently. I couldn't hear him because I had my favorite rock station on with the windows rolled up. I just smiled back at him. He didn't like that.

FUCK him. And the whores his darling little bushie rode in on.

10. I have a DU bumper sticker and a Kerry/Edwards sticker on
my car. During the election runup on two occasions drivers quickly passed me on my left and then immediately pulled back into my lane a few feet in front of me. One of the drivers, a woman with kids in the car and all sorts of Christian and Repugs stickers, slammed on her brakes just as she got into the lane in front of me. I went off on the shoulder to avoid hitting her. She drove happily on ...

And then, just this week a big pickup with Support the Troops sticker passed me and pulled into my lane quickly causing me to slam on my brakes.

Dems are under attack.

12. Well, I live in a progressive pocket of a red state,
so not too much. I did have a big pickup truck try to intimidate me by tailgating & then when he passed, he tried to push me off the road, except he didn't want to mess up his truck & I basically was not going off the road. Then he flipped me off as he roared passed me. Infantile behavior, but expected from that mind set.

The only other thing was I had a Hero/Zero sticker with a photo of Kerry/Bush & someone hawked a loogie on Kerry's photo. Again, infantile behavior, but no damage.

I did get some birds flipped my way when driving outside the blue pocket, but nothing worse than that.

Here's my photo album of my terrific selection of stickers last year:

aggressive drivers. They read bumper stickers and get wait to pass you and do so with much ado and give dirty look while doing so. I always smile sweetly.

I saw one on a car in parking lot the other day, driver was in car with window down. Sticker said: Homosexuality is a mental disorder. As I walked by him I said "Homophobia is a mental disorder". He said nothing in reply. Maybe he was praying to the dashboard crucifix he had. Moran.

29. Our 49 sign stolen
They had a "repbulican" booth set up in a park the borders our house. We stuck a vote democrat sign right behind the booth and it got ripped down. My wife found it in the pugs garbage can so we put it on a ladder a few feet back from the fence. They hopped the fence and stole the 49 sogn right next to it but didn't steal the ladder.
I have had Bush written on my car in dust of the window no tires slashed yet. I had the W sign flashed at me while in chicago with all my bumber stickers.

38. Mine was because of a yard sign, but was self inflicted
I saw that someone had a Feingold yard sign but not a Kerry one. Well, I was a walking campaign HQ at that point, so I was going to pull into someone's driveway, back up, turn around, and leave that person a Kerry sign. Sadly, a girl just behind me was also backing out of her driveway, and it occurred to neither of us that either of us were there. So I have a nice big dent behind my door on the driver's side. And it's ALL JOHN KERRY'S FAULT!!! :D

Otherwise, mostly I got psychological damage from wearing my Kerry button absolutely everywhere I went, no matter how freeperish. I got called a Communist. I got told that it was okay for Democrats to live in America (the freeper I was talking to said he'd let us) but that we couldn't serve in any offical government capacity because we were unconstitutional. He threw in thou shalt not kill (abortion) though I don't remember that being in the Constitution. Scary pro-life gun guy. He was selling this t-shirt:

48. I Have A Truly Amazing Story!
I live in a HEAVILY, HEAVILY Repuke county, Katherine Harris being my congressperson. So you would think I would have had some egregious experiences.

However, NOT ONE sticker was ever removed and I HAVE had some removed from other elections. I STILL have lots of stickers on my car and the only reactions I get are positive ones! I even had a friend tell me that when I visited her house, a neighbor of hers told her that she had seen my car at a grocery store and LOVED the stickers!

Now I don't know if people are simply afraid of me or not. The fact that I have so many still on my car may make them think twice about saying anything to me. I have been known to stare a few people down, but for the most part the worst thing that ever happened to me was that one guy on a motorcycle gave me the finger!

This is one reason I maintain to this day that the election was a FRAUD!! I know from campaigning in the last election, Harris NEVER seemed like she would win. But low and behold, on election night I watched in horror as I saw about 40,000 votes dumped into her column around 11:00 PM. I've posted this fact many many times here at DU!

Florida was Kerry's!!!

Just two days ago, for the first time, some guy in a red pickup was driving by my car with his window open, just literally screaming his head off at me.

I couldn't help but laugh, however. For someone to be that angry after "his" guy won, makes it pretty clear to me that the poor idiot is beginning to get quite nervous about his idol.

63. This doesn't involve my car, but about a month ago
when I went into the local camping store to have my propane tank refilled for my gas grill I had on my t-shirt that says "He's still not my president".

The owner confronted me about the shirt and said "what does that shirt mean, that liar Kerry, he's the only guy I know that went to Viet Nam and came home with purple hearts and medals for nothing."

I then said to this cretin, "Oh, obviously you believe what those scumbag Swift Boat liars had to say."

He just looked at me and I said to him, "Listen Mister, if you want keep my business and the business of all my friends and family, CAN IT NOW. The fact is that 49% of eligible American voters didn't vote for Bush in November and 51% of the electorate is not a mandate."

He STFU. I love confronting these morons. Give them facts and they are speechless.

BTW, I've been back since then and butter wouldn't melt in this guy's mouth.

67. My bumper sticker says "FREE PALESTINE"
nothing derogatory about Israel, only a statement of support for an eventual Palestinean state. Can't tell you the number of times I've found the Star of David drawn huge on my windshield in whatever medium seems to be available -- lipstick, marker, whatever.

I can only imagine the reaction if a similar pro-Israeli bumper sticker was rewarded with a hand-drawn swastika . . . . .
