If impeachment proceedings did start against Bush... |
|
does anyone expect that the same thing that went Clinton's way would not go Bush's way? In other words, during the Clinton impeachment proceedings, Clinton became more popular - would that also happen to Bush?
(But really, this is a pure fantasy because if impeachment proceedings did start against Bush, he would have had to have done something really "bad" for his fellow repuglicans to do such a thing to another repug.)

6. I think you answered your own question. |
|
The Republicans are the majority in both houses of Congress, so there will only be an impeachment if Bush is found to have done something so bad that he loses Republican support, and that loss of support will be very widespread. He might gain some sympathy support if impeached, but it probably would not be much, depending on how strong the evidence is against him.

7. Repugs control congress |
|
Support for Clinton grew during the impeachment because people recognized it was a stupid ploy on the part of repugs to "git clinton"
impeachment of bush* would be different - he lied to get us in a war
most of this is a moot point at this stage - repugs control congress, the white house and SCOTUS - radical repugs have closed ranks around bush* and have managed to keep a tight rein on any other repug that may feel differently
there will be no impeachment or serious investigations as long as the repugs are in charge
