http://politicker.observer.com/2005/03/quotable-rudy.html

Let's see, endorsed by the LIBERAL party of New York, he himself endorsed Mario Cuomo, is a strong supporter of 'the homosexual agenda,' is opposed to a partial birth abortion ban, would be willing to pay for his own daughter's abortion, supports public funding of abortion, lived with a gay couple after divorce (double play!), and made regular public appearances in drag.

Yeah, the Republican base is gonna LOVE this guy.

:sarcasm:

1. Pat Robertson already has approved of him
If Robertson has approved, I'm sure Dobson & Falwell will, too.

They know Rudy can win & will set things up for moving the country away from Democrats altogether and if they rally the base for him, it will only help in the long run. The fundies think LONG term, not just the next election.

5. When's the last time the Republicans nominated a pro-choice
candidate?

Have they ever nominated a pro-choice candidate?

10. "Why are you doing this to me? Why? Why?", Abner Louima asked.....
....the cop as he was raped with the toilet plunger. "This is the Guiliani NYPD, we do things differently now". Stated the officer.

3. And let's not forget
That he's been married three times, and had an affair with his third wife while he was still married to his second.

So much for "Republican Family Values."

7. Forget the Republican base,
how come I don't LOVE him?

Oh, that's right there is more to him than that, but most New York Republicans are pretty liberal compared to most southern Republicans.

8. Giuliani is liberal compared to most Southern Democrats.
Can you imagine Mark Warner or Mary Landrieu or Bill Nelson supporting public funding for abortion and saying they'd pay for their own child's abortion?

Giuliania would be a vast improvement over *--which is why the Republicans would never nominate him.

11. I had enough of the lisping, hunchbacked megalomaniac
while he was mayor. When I'm feeling really mean and spiteful I want Rudy to be elected President so everyone else can get a dose of what New Yorkers had to suffer with this malevolent pain in the ass.

12. as connecticut yankee said
he had an affair while in office that he did nothing to keep secret.

He used to go out in public with his mistress all the time.

He would have no large base nationally.

The cons and the fundies would never go for it.
