If Bush is in such good health,
why does he always sound so short of breath, and why is his voice so raspy? Does he smoke, is he just nervous or are his doctors missing something? Or is there some other explanation?

1. Maybe he's using Halcyon.
You know, just like his daddy did.

3. They're lying.
It's as simple as that.

You know he's not well, and I know he's not well.

It's obvious.

They're lying.

11. Thank You - I Agree
I just don't see how it is possible for him to have a resting heart rate of 52 if he is only biking 18-20 miles a week. When I was biking 100-150 miles a week, my resting heart rate was 56-57 and I'm 39 (38 when I was this active). Now that I am not so active because I'm driving to work instead of biking to work, my heart rate has shot up to 75 bpm, but I still do over an hour's worth of vigorous exercise a week.

I know you can't compare two people that superficially, but I am convinced they are lying.

Another other item is how he is no longer running 3 miles a day as he was doing in 2003 because of a knee injury. I don't remember any news item of a knee injury.

Finally, the weight loss of 8 pounds is pretty dramatic, especially if he was gaining weight last year. Usually when older people lose weight like that, it's something pathological causing it, not something benign like dieting and exercise.

12. He stopped jogging the week he fell off the Segway.
I remember it distinctly.

After that, he started biking, and the "cool dude biker" stories started appearing.

Plus, he looks "steroid puffy" to me.

14. Me, too.
Since I don't know the guy, I can't say anything with authority, but it's hard to believe he's in the same shape as a "top athlete." If he is, he's working less and working out more than we thought.

I don't remember the knee injury either, unless it's related to one of his numerous falls.

I question the weight loss, too. He doesn't look as puffy as he used to, but he doesn't look especially buff, either. Most of the time he looks like hell.

Wonder if we'll ever learn the truth?

6. The American people are entitled to a copy of his annual exam
I wrote in another forum that all executive officers, cabinet members and Congress critters should submit to an annual drug screening test, with results publicly available.

16. Wouldn't It Be Supreme Irony If
Bush suddenly toppled over dead from, say, pancreatic cancer and the Cheney followed him with a massive heart attack.

Of course Mother Nature would still need to take out one more Republican, but then we are left with , ta da! a Democrat!

It could happen.
