Edited on Mon Aug-01-05 09:30 PM by jim3775
These are links to the real-time results pages of the 2nd district's boards of elections. There are seven counties in the 2nd district but these are the only ones that have websites, the others are too small and rural.

Brown County(35 precincts)
Currently showing primary results, hopefully will change to general election results tomorrow.
Link

Clermont County(191 Precincts)

Hamilton County(319? precincts)
This is a link to a self-updating PDF file.

Warren County(79 precincts)
Also showing primary results.

34. vote control
Please someone enlighten me. If they controled the vote count in Ohio in 04' and defrauded the entire electoral process why on earth will they not do this again. Rove could run a turd with a toupee in that slot and it would win by 10% and worse yet, CNN would make it official and the American public would beleive it. We live in an Oz nightmare.

This time they are being watched closely by the public and could possibly be under investigation by other organizations.

11. Watch out for level 10 terra alerts!
With Warren county, you never know. Last time, the warning was a 10 out of 10. The terrorists hated our fredom so much, it was too dangerous for the press to be near the vote counting room. But to be accomodating, the press could wait in the lobby while the vote counting was going on upstairs.

162. Here is what I was thinking....
In Brown County there was a list of Reps to Congress -- one to be elected. Jean Schmidt was in one pack and Paul Hackett was in another, so I thought in addition to competing with each other they were in a Republican or DEM pack. So I thought the Republicans had other choices and that Bob McEwen was edging ahead of Jean Schmidt with people who didn't want Hackett, but didn't want her either. I could be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me.... WAIT A MINUTE THE DATES ARE WRONG?! I'm going to put in a second post and see if I can get some help here.

What I wrote:

163. I found a descrepency and now I am kicking myself.
If I had taken the time last night to post the copies complete in this thread, we would have these bastards, but now I don't know how to prove what I have... I mean they can look at my machine and see that I didn't alter anything, right? But if I had posted it here last night several people would have been able to verify it.

Then when I was calling Sam Seder with Air America his staff put me on hold - someone took my question and then put me on hold for the WHOLE show.... and my husband was bugging me to put together a picnic so I was trying to focus on the numbers, but I never went back and compared the date until I responded to your thread.. and this was so late because when my husband and I went to our picnic we got in a bit of a fight, so I said, "OK" to renting a DVD and I just got back to looking at what I saved. Here it is.

I saved the Brown County as Text because it was smaller here is the exact time:

Created: Yesterday, August 02, 2005, 12:46:41 AM
Modified: Yesterday, August 02, 2005, 12:46:41 AM
and Accessed: Yesterday, August 02, 2005, 12:46:41 AM
are the same - so that shows they weren't touched.

NOW Accessed just changed to: Today, August 03, 2005, 1:07:47 AM because I looked at the properties and copied the date but Modified did NOT change, because I haven't changed anything.

Here is the Brown County text:

THERE ARE TWO DATES AND NEITHER ARE CORRECT!!!!

I saved the web page for Clermont County to my desktop next:

The file folder shows Created: Yesterday, Aug 02,2005, 12:47:06 AM

It is "read only" type so there is no modification or access date in the properties tab.

The properties tab of the file itself shows:
Created: Yesterday, August 02, 2005, 12:47:05 AM
Modified: Yesterday, August 02, 2005, 12:47:06 AM
Accessed: Today, August 03, 2005, 12:31:19AM

So it shows that now is the first time I've gone in and looked at the file, but there were still no modifications made. The file folder was creating during the second of difference that displays.

165. NEVER MIND!
AAaAgh! Got some advise from a person who is a night owl...

I copied those pages right at the beginning of the reporting.

The numbers in Brown County look like the primary numbers and so it's probably a case of cut and paste of those numbers by the person updating the web in a hurry.... doing it live instead of the two step process of completing it offline and then publishing it.

So since there is a logical explanation for what I saw I'm withdrawing my fear that I have some "exact proof" of FRAUD.

Anyone have any info for outsiders on pre-election polling in Brown?

What a dickhead. We don't buy voting machines and we can't boycott them.

Deibold, Triad, all the voting machine companies are owned by Republican whores.

23. WOW- I didn't realize Brinkman got 1000+ votes in the primary in Warren
County!! He is the uber-conservative that has called for a boycott of the election because Schmidt is not neo-con enough. If 1000+ people stay home this gives Hackett a little break in Warren County. I thought his popularity was mostly in Butler County. Let's hope!!!!!!!!!!

25. GUESS which counties haven't posted a zero sheet yet.

Warren. Go figure. Bastards.

Hamilton gets dishonerable mention because their live results link is still blank, too.

Brown, and Clermont are both zero counts as of a few minutes ago. Clermont's isn't a real zero sheet, Brown is a ES&S punchcard machine output copy.

I'll be keeping an eye out for URL changes or additions today and will post them here.

33. Here are the Warren County primary numbers (useful stuff):
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 10:17 AM by BullGooseLoony
REGISTERED VOTERS - DEMOCRAT 4,771

REGISTERED VOTERS - NON-PARTISAN 39,057

REGISTERED VOTERS - REPUBLICAN 17,754

REGISTERED VOTERS - TOTAL 61,582

BALLOTS CAST - DEMOCRAT 1,111 23.29%

BALLOTS CAST - NON-PARTISAN 0

BALLOTS CAST - REPUBLICAN 6,142 34.60

BALLOTS CAST - TOTAL 7,253 11.78

So, we're vastly outnumbered by the Repukes in that county, but look at the independents- there's a ton of them. Also looks like the Repukes had a greater turnout.

Those independents, though...

Just the primary numbers, anyway, and there are three other counties.

36. It will take massive defections
In two or three of the counties, Schmidt placed third in the June primary. Remember that she was in the Ohio General Assembly and lost her primary as an incumbent last time out. If those same people who voted against her then would rather have a Democrat than put up with her Schmidt for the next two years, Hackett has a shot.

I live in Ohio, just not one of the counties voting on this. 2004 taught me not get my hopes up. Luckily my county (Ashtabula County) which is the largest and poorest county in Ohio, was blue in 2004, but that was small consolation. It would be really really nice though to start kicking some of these corrupt, backwards, morally vacant assholes out of office.

I think bits of this piece were added since it's earlier publishing- I know the part about Hackett voting is new because I read it earlier and that wasn't covered.

Both campaigns had TV and radio commercials sweeping the district, while campaign workers focused on get-out-the-vote efforts. Elections officials said turnout could be as high as 25 percent, a strong showing for a summertime special election.

2nd district voters head to polls

By Howard Wilkinson
Enquirer staff writer

Voters from the east side of Cincinnati to Portsmouth were heading to the polls Tuesday to choose a new member of Congress.

Two months ago, the special election race in the 2nd Congressional District, which stretches across seven southern Ohio counties, was expected to be a low-key affair, a near-automatic win for whichever republican candidate emerged from the June 14 GOP primary. After all, the previous congressman, Republican Rob Portman, routinely won the district with more than 70 percent of the vote.

But Democrat Paul Hackett, a lawyer and Iraq war veteran from Indian Hill, managed to defy the odds and turn his battle with Republican Jean Schmidt, a former state representative from Clermont County, into a hotly-contested race, attracting national media attention and hundreds of thousands of campaign dollars flowing into the district from both national political parties.

In Hamilton County, the turnout appeared to be light-to-moderate, according to election officials. But hundreds of campaign volunteers on both sides were working feverishly to get voters to the polls, and both campaigns had extensive phone bank operations.

At the Hamilton County Board of Elections, election officials said their biggest problem Tuesday was fielding scores of calls from voters who live in the 1st Congressional District, complaining that they went to their regular polling places and found them closed.

103. John Glenn and Max Cleland campaigned for Hackett. good.

Hackett, who would be the first Iraq war combat veteran in Congress if elected, campaigned with fellow vets Monday. He also had weekend campaign help from two other veterans, former Sens. John Glenn of Ohio and Max Cleland of Georgia.

''This is what America is all about,'' Hackett said. ''This is democracy in action.''

Clermont BOE was uncooperative and basically nasty.....I think it is very strange that the vote has stopped....it has been stuck for quite a while now....and of course this is the county where Mean Jean lives....

I don't know why they are holding up the results....unless it is just to be mean....we figured Clermont would go for Mean Jean....

And, what is this - Schmidt - INSIDE the polling place - Isn't that illegal???

I live in MA (true blue & liberal to the core thank goodness), & we can't even stand with signs within so many feet of the voting booth OUTSIDE the polling station.

What is the deal with that?

This election looks incredibly close - but with Ohio vote fraud being what it is - who knows?

With Schmidt currently 800 in the lead.

Why must everything be so close? I'm excited he's doing this well, but jeez, it 50.44 to 49.56 for Schmidt, which means either way the legitimacy will be questioned, AGAIN.

and a crash, huh? In one of the most Republican counties in the country, something goes wrong with the voting machines right before a close race? I won't believe it...

155. Paul Hackett (D) 48,811 49.56%; and her 50.44%
from your website:

Vote counting resumes
in Clermont County
The vote count has resumed in Clermont County after having earlier technical problems.

At 10:54 pm, Paul Hackett and Jean Schmidt were neck and neck in the vote count, with the Republican candidate slightly ahead. All results were in, except for Clermont County which was yet to report the tally from 91 precincts. But, with Hackett 800 votes behind it is unlikely that he would be able to catch up. Unfortunately for Hackett, he is getting 30,000 less votes than what Democrat Charles Sanders got in 2004 against Rob Portman, meaning a lot of Sanders-Kerry voters stayed home today.

With 685 precincts of 753 reporting at 10:54 pm :
