the bush administration don't even trust bolton
"most of the reforms sought by the U.S. are well on their way to completion", said a senior administration official, speaking anonymously to avoid undercutting the rationale for
the bolton appointment. another said because so much has been achieved, there was little concern that bolton's combative personality would jeopardize the agenda. NYT 8/2/05 http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/02/politics/02diplo.html?th&emc=th

3. Hmm... then why did they need him so badly?
Revoltin Bolton became radioactive after too much press coverage. The public got to know him as a real sleaze, dirtbag who chases people down the hallway who don't agree with him.

Bush defied Congress, the public, the press, everyone by sticking this guy in the minute Congress took off.

They could have picked somebody else.

7. I believe that bolton has a specific task to perform at the UN
I just haven't figured out if it is to manipulate evidence to start another war or if it is to destroy evidence to cover the admins asses.
