Bush's Ranch Serves Down-Home Diplomacy -- AP
By NEDRA PICKLER
Associated Press Writer

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - President Bush has turned his remote ranch into a stage for down-home diplomacy, where a barbecue grill and a pickup truck have become his favorite tools for dealing with world leaders.

The 1,600-acre property in central Texas is a place where aides say the president feels most comfortable and can spend more get-to-know-you time with his guests than in hurried Washington. On Thursday, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe will be the 14th foreign leader to visit the ranch.

1. How did Pickler get there? Operation Mockingbird.
Funny how BEFORE he became prez, Bush spent most of his home time at golf courses and country clubs, and only became a rancher when he was running for president.

8. Bush -- up to no good in Crawford
Based on past experience, Bush is up to no good when he is in Crawford. Didn't he start his love affair with Putin, corner Blair into backing him on Iraq, deep six the warnings about Bin Laden, launch the Schiavo rescue mission, and on and on from Crawford. Doesn't he entertain the Saudis a lot in Crawford? He must have especially soundproofed rooms down there where he hatches his plots against America. I wonder if he slips some kind of hypnotic potion into his guests' drinks while they are there. Anyway, when Bush goes to Crawford, it means trouble for America.

5. Do you really think Junior will take time out from "clearing brush,"
to play host to the Colombian president?

Then again, perhaps the President Uribe brought him some Colombian grass to distract him from Texas brush.

7. He's a yankee
Any Texan will tell you that, and no amount of trucks, hats, and land will ever change that.
