White House Spokesman says that Bush, "Is honored beyond belief to receive this outstanding honor. 'Augusto Pinochet is one of my heroes', says Bush, "and one of the great heroes of my family--I'm truly touched."

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger will present the award to the president. The ceremony will be held in Washington DC later this summer. Kissinger said, "going to Chile would be out of the question."
