1. I don't know that that's true.
Georgia just lost a bunch of troopers too, and it's not suddenly any more blue down here.

3. no - it was in the last couple of weeks.
I understand your point, but I just don't see more dead soldiers suddenly changing the minds of the idiots who would still vote for the GOP at this pass.

4. I only say that because it was so very close....
was the the Ga. election even in the ball park?

I have friends in Atlanta..... They say although they circulate among the sane it is a little weird.

6. I don't think the hard core red staters give a damn about the soldier.
Schmidt is the one who will protect their money and not try to spend it on helping undeserving vets or poor people. The war is good for business and those soldiers don't count beyond a car magnet and a hypocritical speech by the Resident...you know, when he gives a speech, when he is at work uh, say where is he?

and it's an indication that you are far too cynical about politics if you believe it. Another thing that can happen is people can point to comments like yours and say "See, Democrats HOPE marines die so they can win elections!"

8. yes, I am afraid you are right.
Repugs would twist it to make it seem that we like/need bad news (even these horrible deaths)--to make the case for an unjust war.
