Where are the Abu Ghraib pics? Where are the contempt citations?
Where is the outrage? The Department of Defense was mandated by a court of law to release those pictures and videos to the ACLU on June 30, 2005. The US Attorney, on behalf of the DOD, requested an extension to July 22, 2005, although I can find no record that the court actually granted that extension. July 22 came and went with no pics or videos released by the DOD. WTF? Why is that not contempt of court and why are the contemnors not behind bars like Judith Miller?

1. August 15

the judge is to issue a ruling on their attempt to get them locked away forever.

onedit: but you're right. Donald Rumsfeld should be in jail for contempt. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes.

4. My bad--August 15 is the date for the hearing
to address two issues: whether the public has been improperly denied access to information as a result of the government's redacted briefs, and whether the government should be compelled to release photographs of abuse at Abu Ghraib.

3. Bush will move Heaven and Earth to save his ass.

I severely doubt that the government will hand over the torture materials. I suspect that people will be indicted and jailed before those images are handed over. Heck, Donald Rumsfeld will burn the torture photos and videos himself if he has to.

Make no mistake... The torture photos and videos are huge problem for the Bush administration. They know those images can never be released and they will move Heavan and Earth to prevent them from being released.

Either way, it will be fascinating to see what happens when the mask comes off the Excutive branch and reveals a monster that answers to no one.
