WARNING TO ALL DUERS: SHUT DOWN YOUR COMPUTER WHEN THE HUMIDITY HITS 44%
Otherwise there is a high probability that you will may experience various types of "glitches". Postings may vanish into the ether.

This is a new phenomenon which has just been discovered in Ohio.
Computer manufacturers are looking into the problem. There is conjecture in scientific circles that the anomaly may be related to global warming.

Of course, since humidity levels outside of the western deserts are usually higher than 44%, you may be forced to forego DU and spend your free time on FOX or CNN.

DUers in the Western states should have no problem.

3. As one who is fortunate to have central air, I ask myself if this
is possibly a government sponsored report so that I'll turn my thermostat down a little more and pay more duckets to the big business electric company.

Sorry for the acidic, sarcastic response, but that's my mood this morning.

5. it was about the paper
it was a ridiculous excuse, but it should be pointed out that it was about the paper, not about the computers.

14. Wow -- I must have a supercomputer. I live in GA where the
humidity is ALWAYS over 44% -- often by 100% more, and often enough even more than that!

TIA, you are my hero, did you know that?

15. The excuse given was about the paper, not the computers
and you can take this for what it is worth given it is ancedotal evidence. My school is in a very humid part of the country and doesn't keep the copy room terribly cool. We are told to not use paper which has been left out overnight due to the fact that the paper will jam the machine. Our copiers were very old when this instruction was given.
