NPR scoop this morning: the shiny object for the media starting in Sept:

Saddam's trial.

This is RoveCo's wet dream...NOTHING, that is, NOTHING against Bush and his machine will be allowed while the monster and all his atrocities are aired for... how long? Think they can draw it out to election 2006? I do.

And all those panywaist liberals who doubted the great leader? Traitors. Trust THEM with national security? Ha!

Never mind the dead soldiers, $300 billion flushed down the shitter, car bombs in the US and UK, hatred for the US all over the world... getting rid of Saddam was WORTH IT! Just LISTEN!! :eyes:

1. I think I'm about to be sick!
Oh wait, with all this crap on the tube, I'd rather go to work where I can at least surf a bit & tune in some sanity rather than the constant madness of the networks!

"$300 billion flushed down the shitter..." That is spot on!

3. Depends on how 'independent' the Iraqi judiciary is, don't it?
We all know how much RoveCo loves an independent judiciary.

4. They must have erased all his pre-1991 memories of being a CIA
protege. Wonder how much electroshock and drugs it took to eliminate his willingness and ability to talk about how the Reagan-Bush Administration arranged during the Iran-Iraq war for the Germans to export sarin and mustard gas production equipment to Iraq, and how the US and Israel looked the other way when Saudi Arabia paid Pakistan to start providing nuclear weapons technologies to Saddam.

He may be a monster, but, he's our monster.

5. Oh, stop worrying about it
If Fitzgerald brings down some indictments, it WILL be top news again, Saddam or no.
And Fitz couldn't give a hoot about Saddam, he's focussed on his case.
Calm yourself, grasshopper. Time is your friend.

6. Saddam is old news.
He's been photographed in his underwear. No one on the planet is afraid of him.

This is NOT going to be a ratings grabber. I know the admin thinks it will, and I assume the media will run with it, but nobody will watch.
