Paul Hackett's showing vindicates
Wes Clark's (and Howard Dean's) approach towards "Taking it to the Rethugs." Hackett campaigned on Democratic values, blasted the chickenhawk Bush, and nearly came away with the victory. Never should we be "Republican lite," as Hillary, Biden, Warner, et al are doing. I hope there are a lot of Democrats out there whose eyes were opened by Hackett's campaign. If Hackett got mileage out of his Iraq service, imagine a 2008 campaign with Clark, a Vietnam hero, 34 year military/diplomatic resume, running on Progressive values in Red States. Can you hear Wes Clark in a Red state talking about how he is is a gun owner and hunter, but if you want to use an AK 47, come join the Army--there's a place for you. Clark doesn't lose a single state Kerry won, and picks off Ohio, Arkansas, Florida, and some southwestern states. Can you spell landslide?

1. I spell landslide C-L-A-R-K.
Can't wait for '08.

The '06 elections will be pretty sweet, though. Republicans that were considered safe before have been put on notice...

20% lead in the polls, or less, and you're in trouble.

2. I think it shows that voters are ready for a change
especially in Ohio, I hope.

We do not need anymore Thug-lite Dems now. That losing strategy has been shown not to work, and yet the DLC still seems to think that is the path to victory. Hillary Clinton is running to the middle just as fast as she can, Joe Biden is a joke. I just wish Howard Dean would tell Joe to go jump in a lake; he has NO chance in '08.

We need fresh blood like Paul Hackett, a Democrat that doesn't apologize for being a Democrat! Take the fight to the Rethugs and stick their own rhetoric up their noses and see what happens, letting the chips fall where they may. Start the debate on our terms, frame the debate using our arguments, show the electorate that the so-called "Family Value" and "Christian" Right is neither.

Attack, attack, attack; do not stop, do not let up. Set them back on their heels and keep them scrambling. It is so hard to fight when you are off-balance all the time. This is the strategy that the Thugs have used successfully for so long and we as a party sit there and let it happen. Not anymore, it is time to grow some balls, kick some Thug ass and start taking back our country.

3. It Isn't As Easy As That
Clark doesn't lose a single state Kerry won, and picks off Ohio,

Not as long as Blackwell is Secretary of State.

Arkansas,

not with all the church people voting Rethug....

Florida,

Florida!??? After 2000 and 2004 you think we'll ever have a chance in Florida?!
The Bush Family OWNS that state.

and some southwestern state

yeah right.

4. With Taft having lower poll figures than dirt,
Coingate just getting rolling with all the implications that has for Rethugs at both the state and federal level, we need to keep Blackwell tied to this disaster and keep hammering him on his ethics or lack thereof.

The Thugs have a use and discard system in place; look at Florida and Harris. My hope is that they have gotten all the use out of Blackwell that they can and will now kick him to the curb.

Ohio's economy has not participated in any economic rebound, let alone expansion, under Rethug indifference over the last six years or so, and we are losing jobs to NAFTA. (Thanks Bill, DLC) I think that the support shown by voters for Paul Hackett shows that we are ready for a change, big time.
