Limbaugh on Hackett: "liberal Democrat" who served in Iraq "to pad resume"
http://mediamatters.org/items/200508040003

LIMBAUGH: OK, if you go to the top of our homepage at RushLimbaugh.com, you'll find a link to see this Hackett ad, and it is amazing. The libs, once again trying to hide behind a military uniform. It didn't work for Kerry. I can't imagine it's going to work for Hackett, but we'll see. But you gotta see this ad to believe it.

Some Democrat somewhere, some lib, is tutoring this guy on how to be fraudulent and deceptive. He may have -- as a liberal, he may come by it naturally. I have to grant that possibility. Was Carville out there? Carville was out there campaign -- so Max Cleland was out there cam -- well, now, Cleland's uniform didn't help him in his re-election either. Back in, what was it, 2002, so, hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm. Plot thickens, James Carville advertising assistance to Paul Hackett. By the way, folks, don't -- (former Sen.) John Glenn (D-OH) was there? John Glenn was helping him. Well. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. So, we do have a high-ranking Democrat help, and so we know that the strategy from the highest levels of the Democratic Party is deceit, lies and deceit. You would think after Kerry that they would learn you can't win hiding behind a military uniform when you're a lib. But they're trying -- I guess they do -- and I think Kerry was the wrong guy. This guy Hackett's the right guy.

All right, we've learned a couple other things. This Paul Hackett is a trial lawyer, folks (laughing). He's a personal injury lawyer like <2004 Democratic vice presidential candidate> John Edwards. And it appears that, you know, he goes to Iraq to pad the resumé, come back and run as a big supporter of the war, or at least finishing the project over there.

So where are we? Well, we're on the Rush Limbaugh program and the EIB network but we're also hearing that Democrats once again lose an election running an ultraliberal hiding behind a military uniform. They once again lose an election pretending to be something that they are not -- a hawk on the military and a hawk on the war in Iraq. They run again, once again, as deceivers and, once again, they lose.

Sits at his desk while others are out living in the real world.

Thanks Paul Hackett for running in the 2nd district in Ohio and almost beating that jean schmidt.

I think the Universe has bigger plans for Hackett.

11. The Republicans, especially pigs like Limpballs, think the military
"belongs" to them, so any Democrat who served in the military must necessarily be some kind of phony. But that's a tough argument for guys like Rush, who skated from service in Vietnam on account of a boil on his fat ass. Beats me how a chickenhawk who never wore a uniform dares to say things like that -- but Rush has proved repeatedly that he has no shame at all.

12. Much as people don't like the fact here, Kerry wasn't a fake hawk
it doesn't take much looking to figure that out.

It's amazing that Kerry gets called DLC when the other side thinks he's an uber liberal.

And the word here is that Hackett wasn't uber liberal. He was somewhat closer to the middle than folks here would normally like, or so folks here have said.

What an asshat.

Support troops, unless they're Dems. If they're Dems and in uniform, then call them pukes and liars so that no one will realize that YOU'VE NEVER ACTUALLY BEEN IN A UNIFORM YOURSELF!

Rush hates actual soldiers who disagree with him, doesn't he.

He hates them because they know what war is, and he doesn't. He fears them. So he tries to blow them away.

Sick motherfucker.

16. ol' Hophead admitted to reading DU on his show
Wednesday. He said the DU was just a bunch of kids whining over Hackett's loss. Then he proceeded to trash DKos saying it was "way out there". The same day Tony Snow referred to liberal bloggers as Soros sponsored, beer drinking, frat boys. I guess Wednesday was trash the bloggers day!

But Limpballs also talked about reading Drudge...is his brain so fried by Oxycontin, that he doesn't have an original thought anymore?

17. I wonder how all the other Marines in uniform
feel about this? I would like to see that fat dirtbag tell that to Paul Hacketts' or any other marines' face and see what would happen. Tell that to the marines that were killed from my state. Tell that to their families. They were only in Iraq to pad their resumes.

Coward. Draft dodger. Hypocrite. Liar. Drug abuser. Soon to be indicted.......Pigmans' padded resume.

Funny how the Thugs like to denigrate lawyers but they always seem to run out and hire the best legal advice money can buy when the fertilizer is going to hit the ventilator. Rove, Libby, Novak, Bush, Cheney, Lintball all seem to be keeping the legal profession kinda busy lately, eh?

I can't think of his name right off.. (and don't know how long he was over there) But he's running as a "veteran of Iraq" on the R-ticket trying to knock Senator Byrd out.

They'll make him out to be a huge hero..

38. They are so after Byrd already, Larissa

Charleston (WV) Gazette 8/3/05

Byrd fires back at GOP with TV ads
Senator's ads will track Republicans', aide says

-snip-

But not all political observers see it that way. “This has to be the earliest start of any Senate election in West Virginia,” Robert Rupp, a West Virginia Wesleyan professor, said of the warring ads.

The NRSC announced it would buy $53,000 of ad time in the Charleston-Huntington TV market that began running July 29. Rose said Byrd’s ads will basically track the GOP’s “both in terms of geography and duration.”

Rupp speculated the GOP ads could mean they believe Byrd is vulnerable and perhaps they wanted to run advertisements prior to polling. If Byrd looked weak, that could be used to urge Capito into the race, which Republicans in Washington, D.C., have asked her to consider.

of course there isn't. Interesting that NOvakula gets suspended for saying bullshit and walking off the set, but Rush can spew hatred for members of our armed forces and nobody even blinks an eye. New levels of outrage are reached every single day. I think it's time for a letter writing campaign to get Rush 'suspended'.

34. Last news on Rush's Dr. Shopping Case was July 7th....
http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,16894,00.html

"After the state supreme court, in a 4-3 vote, declined the 53-year-old gabmeister's appeal that his privacy was violated, Circuit Judge Thomas Barkdull III handed the Palm Beach County District Attorney's Office only those records that pertained to their criminal probe.

The action paves the way for prosecutors to make a final determination on whether to charge Limbaugh with breaking the little-enforced law of "doctor shopping"-- i.e., illegally obtaining duplicate prescriptions from various physicians to feed a drug habit."

37. One mans observation on Limbaugh.
Let's be honest, the idiots that listen to this POS probably have no idea about the boil on his ass that kept him from serving in 'Nam.

Many probably don't even know about the doctor shopping debacle.

I consider myself somewhat masochistic to even listen to his drivel. I feel that in order to fully understand what goes on in the minds of these sheeple, I have to submit to his incessant rambling.

Yes, I'm a sick man. Of course, I think I've learned a few things. Being a bullshitter, from a family of bullshitters, I can relate. It makes things easier to see.

I've learned that when a person, or people, constantly tell me that they are "truthtellers" or "fact-based", they are full of:

BULLSHIT!

A honest person needs to just speak truth to power, nothing more. Actions speak volumes. Rush is a surrogate for this corrupt administration and will say whatever is in their best interests. Not ours.

BTW, I know many DUers know this already and I'm not trying to beat a dead horse. Of course you never know when one of our little wayward RW friends show up here. This is for them.
