Sensible, Multilateral, American Response to Terrorism
SMART Security (In response to Bayh)

Crafted by Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), the Nobel Prize winning national organization of health care professionals, SMART Security provides a way for citizens and organizations to take a direct role in building genuine security for our county and the world.

1. Rule of Law
2. Stop the spread of WMD
3. Change budget priorities to emergency responders, developing troubled nations, renewable energy.

Please read the Platform, supported by Oregon PeaceWorks. If you agree with it, consider adding your signature to the SMART Security petition.

And for those going to DC, how about lots of signs that say S.M.A.R.T. Security. We really do have to offer solutions.

1. That list looks like a major improvement over what passes for security now
When I first read the list I was surprised by the absense of the "the war on terror", extremists etc - then I realized that the positive way of addressing that around the world is ... rule of law, everywhere. If there are no lawless areas, large scale terrorist operations can't exist. If all countries comply with international law, there are no outlaw nations. I love this wording because it emphasizes what should be the norm - rather than highlighting the abnormalities.

3. The sensible response
is to get out of the middle east all together. They don't want us there; we are infringing on their religion, culture and way of life.
