As more and more Americans oppose the war, will leading Dems join them
or continue to call for a more effective occupation where we "do it right"? It shouldn't be impossible for those who voted for the IWR to admit their mistake in trusting Bush and demand he be held accountable for the lies and the "fixed intelligence." The debacle in Iraq gives the Democrats a genuine opportunity to show they can provide practical, intelligent leadership for the good of all America, not just the military-industrial complex. No more deaths and no more billions to prop up a criminal administration. Do we really want to fight the 2006 and 2008 elections on the grounds the Democratic Party is the better war party?

1. If a few leading Democrats stepped forward and said they would
have voted "no" if they'd had the correct information, it would be encouraging. I think it's something the American people want to hear: the truth.

2. Yes, the big question is whether or not "leading" Democrats
have even enough backbone to follow.

3. This is where the rubber meets the road. Someone could become the
frontrunner for the Democratic nomination by showing some courage and leadership.
