USA Today opinion (letter): "Bolton's strong voice is needed at U.N."
http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/editorials/2005-08-04-letters-bolton_x.htm

John Bolton is an excellent choice for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Liberals and some members of the media want to present him as someone who will give us a black eye. I don't see it that way ("Bolton appointment skirts Senate," News, Tuesday). The United States has been pushed around, injured and blindsided by the organization's Third World nations, and criticized at every turn. We have allowed the U.N. to maintain a presence on American soil and we have provided the largest share of financing for its existence. But it's never enough.

We need a strong voice in the U.N. that will represent us and stand firm on what Americans value. Were it left solely to the U.N., I'm convinced there would be more "hot spots" in the world than exist today.

Let's give the man a chance to do his job and stop all the negativity that undermines Bolton's efforts before he even gets to act.

Frank Gregg, Gallatin, Tenn.

1. Hey Frank -
He's already started off badly by threatening Iran and Syria.

2. The US has been...
...pushed around by third world nations. Can these people honestly believe this crap?

I guess its easier than facing reality. I remember when conservatives were against blame and for accountability. People would be slammed for blaming their problems on racism, abuse, etc. Now we can blame the US decline on third world countries. WOW!!
