See where they run: Colin Powell as venture capitalist partner
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8561665/

After four decades of military and government service, former secretary of state Colin L. Powell is pursuing a new trail of business entrepreneurship.

Powell said yesterday that he is joining Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, one of Silicon Valley's most storied venture capital firms, to work with young executives on leadership and help their businesses grow worldwide.

Powell said he is particularly interested in health care, search, energy and networking ventures. He recently joined a group of executives as investors and board members of Revolution Health Group, billed as a new kind of consumer health care company founded by former America Online chief executive Steve Case.

1. Sounds better than being just another Rove puppet.
Also might be more productive.

2. There is a quote in a local mag I couldn't find offhand
from Powell about this, which was darker and along the lines of "the world is changing, and these people want someone who can help them understand the new lines in the sand and where the opportunities are".

Just like the vultures in Fahrenheit 9/11 discussing business opportunities in the newly-shock-and-awed Iraq.

Sure, opportunity is fine, but not when those involved seem to be the cause of the opportunities. Conflict of interest on a galactic scale...like Bush signing two National Emergencies before invading, regarding Iraqi oil. And what should happen if Iraqi oil should fall under the purview of "other US people". Bush being an oil family, and a CIA family, you see.

3. I have no use for Powell in politics so I prefer him in business.
Unfortunately in a fascist regime their is no difference. There is such a confusion of government and business that increases daily, lawmakers becoming lobbyists and lobbyists writing laws. This has become a country of, for, and by the corporation. The only positive note was the turn to altrnative energy.

4. Get it-- this is the New World Order.
After WWII, when they divided up the world, everyone then decided that they Wanted More. Bush in the CIA, setting up the Shah, selling weapons to both sides, softening up the MidEast for invasion. They invaded.

These people smash the world up into the shape they want and invest appropriately. Check back on that bit in F 9/11 and extrapolate.

The war is over, and the corporations have won. There was nothing that we could do. If you wonder at the silence of Congress before the Invasion, and at Clinton getting friendly with Bush 1...
