I got this letter from the CA Republican Assembly Leader |
|
His name is Kevin McCarthy. Now I feel very sure he knows that I am a registered Democrat. My wife who is registered Independent gets letters from him all the time but I have never gotten one before.
Being very suspicious of repukes I'm wondering why I got the letter. Here is part of it.
"The Governor has proposed a $17.4 million increase on top of the $20 million budgeted for career technical education funding. Thi will improve the coordination of curriculum between K-12 and community colleges and will create a more seamless and effective system. Assembly Republicans support the Administration's commitment to preparing students for highly skilled careers in the continually advancing California economy."
Basically he is saying that they propose spending on vocational education.
I don't see an Assembly bill number for this and I don't see a timetable for it either. My guess is that he is fishing for votes by sending out a letter to Dems proposing something that sounds good to us but they never intend to follow through on.
My reply to him will be something like this. Stop the special election, increase the minimum wage and get our $9 billion back from Enron then lets talk.
You also propose to gut public employees unions and their pentions and get rid of public school teachers tenure and now you say you propose to help vocational students get a job? Sorry but you party's history doesn't show any compation for the plight of working people so I doubt you mean what you say in this letter.
