John McLaughlin's cryptic mention of Al Gore tonight--anybody else see it?
It was at the very end of the McLaughlin Group. I wasn't watching but came in just as the "predictions" were coming up near the end. After all the panel opined, McLaughlin barks into the camera: "Gore's Back!"

????????????

No context. At all. I would have thought he would have mentioned the TV channel if it was about that. But NADA....

1. A few of the blogs are mentioning Gore '08
very favorably. Global warming, looting the Treasury, and the danger of consolidated media were some of Gore's main concerns. And guess what OUR main problems are now? See above.

3. Gore has always been ahead of his time. He should campaign by
pulling out his speeches from eight to ten years earlier and pretending he just thought of it right now. Maybe then people could keep up with him.

9. His first line could be: "Have you enjoyed the last 8 years?"

He MUST dump Joe, though.

13. No Joe, either of them (Biden and Liberman)
Edited on Fri Aug-05-05 11:26 PM by FreedomAngel82
I don't know what Gore was thinking by having Liberman as his VP. I'm sure Gore has probably been watching everything and seeing what his fellow mate has been doing. Hopefully anyway. I'd love to have Gore/Kerry or Kerry/Gore. :D No DLCers as VP's!

17. Yes he did.
Shrub was voted in by the Supremes. They stopped the vote recount; it was done after shrub was sworn in and Gore really won. We're sensitive about that here. Very sensitive.

I think that she/he's saying that the MSM (AKA corporate media) was partly responsible for Gore not running in '04.

27. No
My question why is the MSM pushing democrats we know america won't vote for (Hell they didnt even vote for Kerry and look who he was running against) I also meant Gore had his chance his chance in '04 where I thought he could have easily beaten Bush and he passed it along why bother in '08?

22. He beat Bush once, and his addition to the ticket pushed Clinton
ahead of Bush Daddy and Perot. It's asinine to claim he couldn't win.

4. Same here, TahitiNut! GORE!
Like it should have been. He's the "only" one that can pull us back from the brink. Not HILLARY... no way. They're pushing her way too much in recent months. Sorry DUer's that disagree.

Good call, if we can make-it out of this adm alive!

10. I prefer Kucinich, by far.
The "unelectable" Kucinich would be VERY electable after serving as VP.

8. If did quite a bit of research a couple of weeks ago re: Gore's activities
Gore has said he's not running....but he's been politicking in places like MN and had his first "family picnic" in TN at the end of July. It looks like there's a documentary film on his incredible "show" on the environment in the works. You never know....he may not be running, but he's been making a lot of business connections and think tank contacts in many areas. It's fascinating.....

When I saw the Algore-08 website (which had the AnybodybutBush URL until recently), it struck me as if it was set up as a campaign site. The mail address is a a Mailbox Etc. location, just down the street from Al Gore's office in Nashville. Both are a stone's throw from the section of town where he lives.....I found them all on Mapquest!

Edited on Fri Aug-05-05 11:31 PM by FreedomAngel82
In 2000 I wasn't old enough to vote yet and I'd LOVE to vote for him. I was proud to have my first vote casted for Kerry but if Gore was running we could seriously kick some ass. I think he has changed a LOT and the 2008 Gore is really great and comes across on the tv a lot better I think. As Jon Stewart once said on the DNC convention coverage on the "Daily Show" last year: "Doesn't he sound great? Losing the presidency really agrees with him."

That's the most obvious national appearance Gore has made in the last week.

33. Then why didn't he say so?
If there was some type of "hot tip" or signs that Gore was planning another run, wouldn't he have devoted a whole segment to it?

He was obviously referring to either the Jay Leno appearance or the launch of Current (or both).

34. You people need to stop dreaming about Gore! He has said
MANY TIMES, he isn't interested, he's not running for any politics again, etc. WHY in the world would he want to go through that BS again? Hell, I don't blame ANYBODY for not wanting to go though the nightmare campaigns of recent years!

Gore's enjoying life now, and he's working on his new network.

Stop dreaming!

35. While I think you're probably right, you then see things like this:
Last statement by Gore at the 7/23 1st Annual Gore Family Picnic:

"Gore ended the rousing call to action by telling the audience to remember that the fight to take back America begins "right here, in Davidson County, tonight". "

It's this sort of thing that drives me nuts!
