"I'm here fighting the culture war."
I've heard this talking point from a couple of young Rs over the last few days ween asked about why they aren't serving in Iraq or the military. Cute, but what struck me is that they perceive of themselves to be at war with the rest of America that doesn't embrace their philosophy. How can we call them on their enmity with their nation?

16. They make the Republican party look bad to Independents
In my view, the best think we can do as Democrats is to keep pointing out, over and over, that most of the people who advocate for this war will not FIGHT this war. We have to keep pointing out that the military is struggling to recruit people and lowering their standards to do it. Republicans are showing their true colors by being cowardly and hypocritical. I think this has turned alot of people against the war and alot of Independents against the Republican party. Let's help it along.

4. They're here INSTIGATING the culture war.
There was no war until they decided they had the right to tell every person in this country how to live their lives.

6. A bunch of out of control,
control freaks. They are so afraid of everyone and everything, all they can do is hate. These people need serious help. They corrupt the whole society and their reign of terror will soon be over.

9. The "Culture" War?
Ask 'em who started this war, right after they have DEFINED it, of course. The telling will fall apart soon thereafter because it's not rooted in them--their talking points are superficial and sound good to them because they hear so much of it repeated over and over again by the MSM. You won't find philosophical or rational underpinnings; you WILL earn stinging rebuke and enmity--but how typical is that?

Finally, if insistence on their course is unshakeable, are they prepared to wage violence on those who are different, will they take up arms and begin to kill the heretics, unbelievers, and the indifferent? To do any less will only keep the "problem" around. Will they personally wield knives, machetes, pull triggers on their weapons of choice, or will it be indiscrimate fire, or bombings?

This is a question with uneasy open-endedness because each of us must be equipped with a resolve BEFORE it occurs. Could you do violence? Would you be a victim? No one can tell you how to act. Let's hope that the "War Of The Words" out there doesn't come to another Civil War in the US.

14. Thank you!
This is my first post. I wanted to post the question about these Young Republicans and see if anyone knows the percentage of them in the military. I have a female cousin who is actually a "leader" (gag) in the Young Republicans, the actual organization, in Pennsylvania. We haven't spoken in two years but I've had this nagging desire to contact her and ask why hasn't she enlisted if she supports this administration so strongly...which made me wonder about their enlistment rate in general.

"So, you put politics above patriotism" - excellent reply!!!

If anyone can direct me to where I can find such figures about enlistment, I'd be very grateful. *S*

"young, cowardly chickenhawk LIMP DICK" :wow:

"They are limp dicks :wow: that would quickly run from a fight back to Mommy's arms...."

Hey if you got macho issues with these boys, don't drag women into it. Deal with your own soft parts.

Thankyouverymuch.

Female power could actually fix the mess men have made of things.

Doesn't that make them terrorists?

17. I was willing to be all nice and touchy-feely
You know, the usual Liberal response: negotiation, compromise, a little consultation, consensus and therapy.

But, no.

The conservatives have identified me as the enemy. They declared war on ME. THEY started it.

So, I guess we must destroy them now. Sorry, you little fascist scum.

This IS war.

27. The "culture war" could turn ugly in a heartbeat.
All dems and greens should be taking weapons training, or at least not be completely ignorant about the devices that could be used on you and your families.

PS: Don't be stupid enough to tell the freepers in the gun shops what your politics are, and don't visibly recoil at the subhuman specimens you will see hanging out in there.
