Am I the only AARP member who is pissed off that Condialiar
Rice is on the cover of the Set./Oct. AARP magazine? "CONDI How She Learned to Be Fearless." Plus, they did something to the gap in her teeth that she cleans the fork in her tongue with. What's with this Condi shit anyway? She's not Cher, she's not Sade or Bono, she is, unfortunately, the Secretary of State of what used to be the United States of America.

My membership in AARP is soon up for renewal and I am thinking about canceling it.

6. I canceled mine because they didn't really offer any good deals
on any of the insurance plans. I could give a rip about the deals they have on travel, hotels or rent-a-cars.

10. yes, they stood up for social security, only because
they knew that another fiasco like their support of bush's prescription drug giveaway to the drug industry, could very well mean their delgation to irrelevance.

i cancelled, and haven't looked back.

they will have to prove themselves a lot more before i would even consider rejoining.

and i don't see that happening.

8. Couldn't agree with you more!
I'm writing to them now to protest this insult to their members. She's a liar and has helped this illegal administration kill thousands of our men and women in the military, plus tons of innocent Iraqis. I immediately tossed this issue in the trash where it belongs - didn't even bother to work the crossword puzzle.

12. I hsve not received the Sept./Oct. issue yet.
But when I do, I will be writing them to complain. And please do not post derogatory remarks about the gap in her teeth. I take it personally because I had a gap like that for most of my life until I finally had my teeth capped.

16. Sorry about the tooth gap comment, but I bet you don't have a
fork in your tongue like Condi. My teeth are not my best feature either, and years after the fact I learned that othodontia would have gotten me a draft deferment...without all the hoops I jumped through to stay out of Vietnam.

15. Unfortunately, crapping in our pants is in the future for a lot of
AARP folks, with or without liars on the magazine cover.

17. Judging from the medicare thing, they've been co-opted by the
rightwing. Unless there's something wonderful you're getting by being a member, I'd definitely cancel -- BUT, let them know why else it won't have as much impact.
