I'll never believe a Republican again
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 01:34 PM by Old and In the Way
* When they say-

"We need to have balanced budgets"
"We can't be nation building the world"
"We believe in State's Rights"
"We believe in advise and consent of the Congress to check presidential powers"
"We believe that there has to be a line between Church and State"
"We believe in the free market theory of economics"
"We care about the environment and we conserve"
"We believe in free and fair elections where every vote is counted"
"We beleive in limited government...keep the feds out of our bedroom"

What I will believe is when they honestly admit-

"We really don't stand for anything but the status quo when we have the power."

2. What you won't hear from republican congressmen on the morning shows...
"We believe in the free market theory of economic - but we pass billions in subsidies for corporations that contribute to our relection campaigns, in congress after congress."

"We need to have balanced budgets - but Newt and Kasich balanced the budget by counting social security money twice and keeping more than a hundreds of billions in other liabilities off-budget."

3. "Again?"
Republicans are genetically incapable of telling the truth.

5. Man, I stopped believing anything they said
during the Clinton Witch Hunts. ;-) ;-)

You'd think I would have learned during the Carter October Surprise! :D

6. Amen....I wish my mom and dad were still around.
They were Eisenhower Republicans. My mom was particularly active in local Republican politics. We never saw eye to eye on politics (I coming of age during the johnson/Nixon years). She died in '97 during the Clinton Inquisition. She was, of course, down with his improprieties.

I often wonder what they'd think of this boy-king who is destroying the very country that their generation sacrificed so much to make it better place for their kids?
