Novak: "Overreacted" during show, hopes to return to CNN soon

The Associated Press

Political columnist Robert Novak said Saturday that he "overreacted" when he used an on-air expletive and hoped to return soon to work at CNN.

Novak, 74, made the apologetic remarks at the Business Council of Alabama's annual conference. He was invited by the council to attend the event and participate in a debate with Democratic strategist Paul Begala.

Already in the midst of political controversy for his role in outing CIA operative Valerie Plame in a 2003 column, Novak caused further sparks Thursday when he irritably used foul language during CNN's "Inside Politics" program and then stalked off the set.

"I overreacted, and I apologized for it," Novak said Saturday. "That's all I have to say."

They are all falling, one by one. The conservative pundits are nothing but W apologists and cheap salespeople.

7. Foster Brooks
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 10:11 PM by shpilk
Robert Novak failed in his attempt to channel Foster Brooks.

"I over<hic>reacted, and I apolog<hic>ized for it," Novak said Saturday. "That's all I <hic> have to say."

All I have to say is, Bob, go have another one, or two, or TEN.
Drown those feelings of guilt and fear in alcohol.
