Looks like Miller's source is Libby

Scooter Libby and Judy Miller met on July 8, 2003, two days after Joe Wilson published his column. And Patrick Fitzgerald is very interested.

I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, the chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, has told federal investigators that he met with New York Times reporter Judith Miller on July 8, 2003, and discussed CIA operative Valerie Plame, according to legal sources familiar with Libby's account.

The meeting between Libby and Miller has been a central focus of the investigation by special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald as to whether any Bush administration official broke the law by unmasking Plame's identity or relied on classified information to discredit former Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson, according to sources close to the case as well as documents filed in federal court by Fitzgerald.

The meeting took place in Washington, D.C., six days before columnist Robert Novak wrote his now-infamous column unmasking Plame as a "CIA operative." Although little noticed at the time, Novak's column would cause the appointment of a special prosecutor, ultimately place in potential legal jeopardy senior advisers to the president of the United States, and lead to the jailing of a New York Times reporter.

The meeting between Libby and Miller also occurred during a week of intense activity by Libby and White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove aimed at discrediting Plame's husband, Wilson, who on July 6, 2003, had gone public in a New York Times opinion piece with allegations that the Bush administration was misrepresenting intelligence information to make the case to go to war with Iraq.

3. And Scooter's source was Hadley or Rice.

Because as has been reported elsewhere, Rice was in the loop and was likely the person who passed the information from the State Dept memo carried onto Air Force One by Secy of State Powell.

That is why Rice is our traitor. She's the one who passed the information to staff fully knowing that they were intent on using it to take political retribution against Wilson's husband. She's the one who had the clearance to know Valerie Wilson's NOC status. She's the one who passed it to staff members who did not have a need to know. In the discussions aboard AF1 during that flight, Rice and the other WHIG members plotted to out Plame.

No wonder they're covering it up. This goes all the way to the top. Bush was onboard, too. In the small confines of the jet, he would have been part of the discussions, especially since it involved his good buddy Condi and all of his staff.

Can you say, "Unindicted co-conspirator"?

4. But the big question is ....
...whether Libby cleared it with Cheney before speaking to Miller et al.

You've gotta figure Libby wasn't acting as a free agent.

5. Bear in mind
That this whole affair started on AF1 on the way to Africa when Powell brought the State Dept memo containing Plame's ID. On that plane as well were the majority of WHIG, the White House Iraq Group.

Now figure this, the members of that group were:

Condi Rice
Karl Rove
James Hadley
I Stewart Libby
Mary Matalin
James Wilkinson
Karen Hughes

Of WHIG, Rice, Hadley, Matalin, and Hughes were on that plane (corrections?) together with Fleischer, Powell, and CuckooBananas. (Corrections?).

We know that Fitzgerald has the phone logs from the African trip and has the memo Powell brought from the State Dept. We also know that reporters were called from AF1 during that trip. Now if anybody told me that CuckooBananas wasn't party to what was going on on that plane I'd call him a bald-faced liar. We also know that LIbby called some reporters, probably Novak and

When this blows up, it's going to blow up big, and I mean BI-I-I-IG!

9. Why not BOLTON???
He was the asshole who constantly tripped up Powell and ratted out State to the WH anytime they, in his not so humble opinion, went off the neocon reservation. Condi couldn't wait to get him gone to the UN, to the point that he got "recessed" there by monkeyboy.

Bolton is a total jerk, and he was a ratfink conduit, telling tales on his boss to his boss's bosses....
