Please. We are "demonstrators". Not "protesters". We are "Activists"
"peace workers" "freedom fighters" "progressives" "defenders of the constitution". (pro-positive-for)
Yes, we protest, but we must command the language they try to couch our movement in. WE are the patriots; the ones who are defending the constitution of the United States of America against the power hungry, greedy, freedom hating liars and thieves who are at the head of our government, about to take us all under.

1. To Bushler, Cheney, et al, we're all "violent extremists."
Never mind the fact we're nonviolent. He's salivating at the prospect of killing us all outright.

There's no reason to be ashamed of protesting.

3. Whenever the MSM reports on any gathering of progressives it is
deemed a "protest". That is a negative word and they know it.

4. Good point, NoSheep...
it's important that we frame things in ways that work for us and still tell the truth. We can't allow the right to control the dialog by distorting the situation by careful placement of words that have a life of their own.

I'm going to bookmark this so that I can reference it in the future when I need to correctly portray what we're doing.

It's sort of like remembering to use "corporate media" rather than "mainstream media".

6. I never liked the term "activist".
I really think that people taking an active interest and participating in public life is natural. That most people don't is a symptom of the structure of our society. By calling ourselves "activists", we make it seem as if we're somehow special, and that passivity from the population at large is normal.
