Cindy needs a political figure with her. What can we do?
Let's start using our power en masse to get Cindy a politician down there to stand with her. Conyers, Boxer, Waters.... who?

Let's get a grassroots effort together. Who can we call, who can we email. I know they are all on vacation, but there's gotta be someone that will go.

Suggestions?

7. The effect might be better if we got a small group
instead of just one. A little show of solidarity might come across as more sincere.

But who, and how?

... what she needs now is huge support from her peers, not politicians.

12. She's getting that.... but I'm thinking media coverage....
We know Conyers or Boxer or even Hackett would not be opportunistic...

I'm thinking get this story on the damn TV for the brain dead.... so what if they are being opportunistic... if it gets the media there so be it... Why can't this be what happened in Florida with Terri Schiavo, as disgusting as it was....This time the message is different. I'm not saying make it a circus, but I want this on TV for the zombies...

Just my cynical 2 cents.

on edit: In my opinion Cindy and her supporters are doing just fine.

15. I don't think so,
it would finally show guts-
admitting they were wrong on the war,
apologizing for rolling over so easily,
and not the same old 'play it safe' shit
that just so regularly oozes out of them

any politico who stood with her quite brave.

27. GREAT suggestion. To those who say "opportunism" upthread, what
do you think of Ron Paul going down there?

I couldn't care less if it's an anti-war Republican or democrat or ideally BOTH.

16. She's been credible for a very long time... WE all know that.
But the zombies don't even know who she is. All I am saying is if we can get the media back there, we have a chance to wake up a few people. I'm just brainstorming is all....

36. Yeah, I'm afraid I do...Since he showed up in Florida, begging the
government to intervene and save Terri's life.
I personally feel that he is a joke, and will do ANYTHING for press.
If I were watching the news, and knew nothing of this protest, his appearance on the scene would only serve to detract from the gravitas of the situation ...(cue circus music).I would tune out.

24. Bush's Congressman is a Democrat named
Chet Edwards. Here is a link to his homepage.

http://edwards.house.gov/

Being as they are all on vacation--he's probably within driving distance. Question is: 1. Will he have the guts to stand by her and bring along the press? 2. Will it better to leave the politicos out of it..keep it a "layperson's" struggle---the PEOPLE v. Bush. I like, personally, option #2. That's just me, though.

25. ok let's think clearly here. What is it CINDY wants?
She knows damn good and well he is not going to swagger out there on the road and have a sit down with her. She wants the MEDIA, she wants a circus!!! Think about it for a minute? She is angry, and **'s fake bullshit isn't going to soothe her grief... she wants to wake up the American zombies in front of fox news... she wants to bring attention to the war, BIG attention to the lies.... She wants Casey's death to bring and end to the war by waking people up from their damn coma.... SO how do we do that for her? How can we help her get the attention that this deserves? This isn't about her getting comforting words from the chimp. This is about bringing attention to the lies!!!

We need get her whatever she needs, a celebrity, a politician, the fucking cast of all the survivor episodes - whatever it takes... Cindy wants to talk to the media.....

if the media can cover one story for a whole 24 hour period why can't it be this one???? Ya know? If we make this big enough that they can't ignore it.

That is all I am saying.

32. I sort of hate to say this...but if there were some celebrities there..
Say...Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins...the press coverage would seriously ratchet up.

I hate to say that, because I'm not sure how much weight celebrities should have over political figures. I'm just being realistic here.

Wes Clark, Paul Hackett, Max Cleland, John Kerry - heck, I bet even Walter Jones, the Republican from North Carolina, who's simply sick that Bush lied to him, would even join. I believe he's also a veteran.

Iraq.

Only thing I wonder, is if it would be a wierd political move. After all she wants to speak with Bush.

I would just like to see them show up delivering food and water, and giving her a hug.
