Hope
Hope

Never give it up. Not EVER.

Nothing is forever. And our years of trial and tribulation will also end. Despair will do no good. Despair hurts our cause and hurts us personally.

Hope is what need to keep. Hope is what our message must be.

Look to Paul Hackett for hope. His message, while tough, is also hopeful.

Look to Cindy Sheehan for hope. Her message, while tough, is also hopeful.

Hope need not be syrupy or sweet. Hope need not be demonstrated in a wimpy fashion. Hope can be delivered with toughness too. And that's what's needed to carry our message beyond our base. That's what's needed to give others hope. Give strong voice to your hope. Speak the truth. Tell what's happening in strong, tough, clear language. And then end your message with hope. Hope for the future. Hope for the country. Hope for the world. Hope for your fellow man.

Everything we hold dear is hopeful. We're not about fear. None of our message is fear based. It is all hopeful.

And it WILL resonate. It WILL be heard. This country is now, more than at any time in the last five years, looking for hope.

Not false bravado. Not warnings that instill fear. But not soft, either. Tough hope, if you will.

Hope.

Taste the word. Roll it on your tongue. Feel in your heart. Show it in your demeanor, wear it on your sleeve. Put it in your words. Act according to it.

Eschew the defeatism. Project instead. Project what you want to accomplish. Feel it. Imagine it. Visualize it. Give it life.

Hope.

We are RIGHT. And we WILL prevail.

Hope.

Fight the fights that need fighting. Do the work that needs completion. Effect the change that needs implementation.

But never lose it.

Hope.

2. Without hope, there is nothing
Good post!

(I want to exclude from this the disease of depression, as it is too complex to be dealt with here.)

4. .... and in many ways those on our side are suffering a form of depression
We need to adopt the hopeful.

To be sure, clinical depression is a serious matter. But our form of political depression ..... it can be overcome.

Hope in place of defeatism.

Sue there's lots wrong and lots that needs fixing.

But we will accompish NOTHING without hope.

5. I agree
A constant diet of what is wrong and why it can not be fixed is enough to drive anyone crazy.

Hopelessness becomes helplessness too often.

Just heard in my head "You gotta have heart...", the song from the musical "Damn Yankees."

10. Kickin' it for my Husb
He's not here right now (traveling for business, though he might sign on later with his laptop). But I can tell you he's a paradox of crustiness and joy -- a grouchy clown, or a funny curmudgeon.

Smart as a whip, knows encyclopedic details about virtually EVERYthing, rages like a madman at the sound of Chimpy's voice, cries at the thought of his parents or a soldier's sacrifice, keeps me laughing from day to night. Total intellect and total emotion at the same time.

Not bad for a frickin' clown. :+

live to see the end of this disaster, for our children, grandchildren and those to come. I have to out live this for so many reasons. I don't have one foot in the grave yet, just getting up there in years and can't stand the thought of not seeing * burn along with his cronies. This more than anything has made me so wish that I were 50 again.

edit to say thanks for the uplift.

14. excellent message ...
we seem so busy with political calculations, the framing of issues, and the laundry list of policy ideas that we forget what must lie at the core of our main message: hope ...
