New York Daily News: "Bush's truth decay"
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/334939p-286050c.html

WASHINGTON - One of President Bush's most attractive traits has been his reputation for straight talk, but a new poll yesterday found that fewer than half of Americans think he's honest. Only 48% of respondents to an AP-Ipsos survey think he's honest, while 50% do not, the poll indicated. That is a five-point drop from January, when 53% of Americans thought Bush was an honest President.

Moreover, some 56% of Americans think he's too cocky, up from the 49% in January who said they view Bush's confidence as arrogance. A solid majority still see Bush as likable and a strong leader, but Bush's overall job approval was at 42%, with 55% disapproving.

"Clearly his credibility on things like Iraq is playing a role in how honest people think he's being," said AP-Ipsos pollster Michael Gross. Bush launched the invasion claiming that Saddam Hussein was developing weapons of mass destruction and nuclear weapons. Both claims have since been determined to have been wrong.

Since then, Iraq has been difficult to pacify and American casualties have soared past 1,800. "Bush has deceived the American people and they are not happy with it," said Baruch College political commentator Doug Muzzio. "He's going to start getting toxic soon."

1. He is toxic
U.S. citizens don't like being lied to for the purpose of corporate gain, especially at the cost of their kids lives.

2. "He's going to start getting toxic soon."
What makes Mr. Muzzio think * hasn't been toxic all along?

And I love the fact that 56% say he's too cocky. It's about time people start seeing that smirking face for what it really is.

5. I read this once (and don't know if it's true)...
...someone on DU once posted that his mommy taught him how to walk like that so he wouldn't be "uncivilized" and walk with his hands in his pockets.

Hey, it sounded good to me.

10. there is something about his hands that stands out, whether they look like
the hands of a man who is ready to draw his gun, or of a man who is about to make an angry fist and launch out a punch at anybody who crosses his path, or of a man who wants to keep great distance between himself and the rest of those around him and the world ... or, whether they look like the hands of man who owns power because his daddy bought it but does not have power because he doesn't even know how to use it -- well, i haven't yet figured out but there is something about those hands when i look at them on the television, or in this picture, or other pictures, that just simply invites me to want to be very far away from a man whose hands seem to tell so much of the cruelty and of the freak need for power and control that he undeniably has.

They do not seem to be the hands of a man who is gentle, or who knows tenderness. They seem to be the hands of a man who is coarse and ordinary. They seem to be the hands of a man who, having latched on to power once, will not let go.

Simply stated they seem to be hands which could easily stand in as a symbol for VIOLENCE.

12. The hands of an ape who has never used them for work
I bet them hands are as tender as a baby's ass.

The occasional photo-op brush-clearing party never puts real callouses on them.

8. Can you imagine what his legacy will be?
The American president who really wasn't and who destroyed the country.

But he'll be known as an optimist "What, me worry?"
