Earth to Friends for Kerry:Don't fricking call me in the middle of the day
Geez, sure, I gave you my cell phone number a year ago to help out with your campaign. Now you've lost, so stop fricking bugging me for money and ESPECIALLY calling people in the middle of the work day. My money is very precious to me and is saved for campaigns I feel are worth while. When you decided to NOT fight the results in Ohio even though there was blatent voter fraud, your campaign and anything associated with it because unworthy to me.

1. While I understand most of your concerns, we can't just save ourselves...
...for campaigns. There are two years between campaigns that should be wisely devoted to party-building. If you can't contribute money in off-years, please contribute time and effort.

NGU.

2. We give money to campaigns,
but LS is right.

Kerry chumped out. He could have fought, he just chose to believe he was "defeated" fairly. What a crock of shit.

I'd have told them the same thing.

4. I'm not talking about Kerry. I'm talking about party-building.
My only concern with her statement was the implication that she only gives to campaigns - and (if I read this wrong, I apologize) does nothing to help in the off-season.

I wouldn't give to a Kerry group either.

NGU.

5. See my post below
I think anyone who knows me knows I contribute plenty of time & money. This call just peeved me because I thought it was done at an inappropriate time AND on my cell phone (which when I signed up ages ago, I filled out this number as cell phone - you'd think these people realize that we have minute plans and all)

:grr:

I understand. ESPECIALLY if you signed up your number as a cell!
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 09:51 AM by ClassWarrior
That's just wrong. However, if you've ever worked a phone bank, you understand that there's NEVER a good time to call - but daytime is definitely one of the lessers of many evils.

Do you give time to your county Dem Party? You should. We can fix this thing if we just bother to get inside of it.

10. Sorry, my local dem party is hopeless - I usually help out back in PA
I give up on the local Delaware Dem party. But I've helped out with some congressional races in PA and even other important races across the country.

14. Sorry, I tried and it was just too frustrating
I probably will get involved with my local PDA chapter or something but the actually local Dem HQ - sorry, my stomach isn't strong enough to tolerate that!

12. yep , I can certainly vouche for you. I know your money is where
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 09:58 AM by jonnyblitz
your mouth is! Not only that but you got up outta your hospital bed last year and made it up to NYC for the GOP convention protests and marched in the sweltering heat two days in a row (you did a "choice" march the day before the big one if i remember correctly). that sort of thing is just the tip of the iceberg for you. I know you are quite active locally in your area, too. ALL that is in spite of you monetary contributions.

so, yeah, I will vouche for you.

3. You're right - which is another reason why I won't donate to them
because I do make contributions between elections but to worthy causes like NARAL, Planned Parenthood, Emily's List and other groups that I know are making progress forward. I also help out with these organizations for local events.

I respect John Kerry the senator, but I have no desire to give him any additional time and money. He isn't the only democrat out there and his volunteers should know better than to call in the middle of a work day

Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 09:40 AM by Catchawave
...it's not like they ran out of money for the Ohio Challenge!

8. As the Republican party fears the religious right....
so should the Democratic party fear the Progressives. We do most of the work for them, we're unified and we're vocal. We've been damned loyal, too. It's time for Kerry and the Democratic party to reciprocate.

but believe me, I'll be working my tailbone off until then to assure that he doesn't

Call the Friends for Kerry PAC or email them. Bitching here won't solve your gripe! Unless of course you posted this for FLAMEBAIT, Friends of Kerry won't see it, why bitch here?

18. Just Engaging in Conversation
Thanks for the suggestion; I'll e-mail them.

Besides, it's not that big of a deal. I get sick of the Fraternal Order of Police calling all the time wanting money, too.

19. You took "the words right out of my mouth"!
I see no reason for this poster to complain here. This should have been addressed while on the phone at the time. One quick sentence, such as, I'm not interested any more would have worked. This is flame bait pure and simple!

17. Why are you putting this Democrat hating rant on DU?
Send it to the Kerry people, or quit your crying.

It's not Kerry's fault that we still have Bush. You can try your best to blame it on him, but you have nothing to back it up. You sound like a Republican that blames Clinton for everything.

It's really pathetic.

20. Wasn't "Friends of Kerry" a fraud?
I remember reading some months back that the real "Friends of Kerry" does not make phone calls and this is a fake group.

I could be wrong, but I'm almost sure I heard that.
