I do not think she would be palatable to the sheeple. That would be a certain loss. Name recognition aside, she has no chance. Go ahead. Shoot me.

If the DU McCain votes are genuine and not just so Hillary wouldn't get them. DU is more to the left than the Democrats as a whole, if McCain has support here, he will have at least as much support in the middle among independents. I bet many of those saying 3rd party would be swayed to Hillary if the match really occurred and was close. This will definitely be true if there are still likely SC positions to fill.
I do agree that McCain's problem will be the primaries. It may be Hilary's too, but there may be enough Clinton can win people whipped up by her husband and his supporters. I think all this hype is to starve lesser known candidates.

5. Looks like both bases will stay home with this match up |
|
Freepers DESPISE McCain. Many have said they will not vote at all if he runs. If this does become the match up, and I think it will be, it looks like the "middle" will decide the next election, neither base.
I am disappointed with Hillary, but she is still the better choice of the two. I could never vote for McCain after all the ass kissing he did for Bush.

"the Middle" may be sick of Bush, but they are still concerned about security and when you match McCain, the war hero - against Hillary, the ex-hippie - my guess is that the middle will pick McCain

IWar. But this match-up will never happen, for the reason u mentioned. The Reich has control of the Repub Party and i don't see that changing. Remember what happened to McCain when he dared run against Bush for the nomination? He was slaughtered. He is still wincing. Probably why he kissed * ass.

11. I Predict This Will Be The Match-Up |
|
Both have amazing political instincts, an ability to react quickly yet plan far ahead, and represent "moderation" at I time when (I predict) people will tire of partisan bickering. McCain has a bit of an edge as far as not wearing his calculations on his sleeve (and drawing grudging respect from liberals), but Clinton has the novelty of being a woman with a real chance at winning.
I think it will be a hell of a fight.

14. Both have good press for the time being..... |
|
Hillary; cause the they want her as the opponent in 2008. McCain; cause they've got to make it up to the guy after standing by and letting Bush smear and destroy him during the 2000 primaries...
Bottomline is this is THE media's race as it stands today.
The question is, does the media have enough power to influence the race as we get closer to the finish line and make it all come true?
or will the media back a Hillary run, but pull out on a McCain run to do their masters' bidding?
We'll soon find out, now won't we?

12. Shillary better not be our candidate. |
|
If you had the choice between DLC/Repuke Lite and Repuke, the fence-sitters are picking the Repuke. Look for 220 EVs MAX. Duh-High-Ah and Flah-Duh would instantly be Diebolded to Fatass Jeb and we'll officially have 28 YEARS of a Bush of some species in office. Them Bubbuhs ain't a'votin for some damned FEEEEmale, especially not one named CLINTON.
End the dynasties already and focus on 2006 first.

Book it.

Hillary only has support from the DLC or GOP lite. Liberals and Progressives can't stand her. The far right who controls the GOP hates McCain. Your match up is HIGHLY unlikely.

I would vote for Hillary (my last vote for a Democrat ever, I suppose) but it would be a pointless gesture--doubly pointless since, A) I live in Georgia and Hillary Clinton is more likely to be lynched in GA than elected by Georgians to dog catcher, much less President; and B) John McCain would wipe the floor with her nationally.

This would be an interesting election if these were the 2 candidates we had to choose from, LOL. I wonder what the turn-out would be since so many people seem willing to sit this one out or write in if these were the two final candidates. Anyway I chose Hilary of course. I don't agree with all of her policies but I like her enough. Besides it would be awesome to have Bill Clinton in the office again.

And acting pretty conservative, to boot.
This match up would be decided by the VP for me.
Of course I've vowed not to vote for Hillary, so....
I'd probably vote green in this scenario.
