Rolling Stones Blast Bush On New CD
Political Wire has an interesting quotation from Mick Jagger:

"I think he's a bit worried because he lives in the U.S."

-- Mick Jagger, quoted by Newsweek, on Keith Richards' fears of possible ramifications to criticizing President Bush in songs from their new album, A Bigger Bang.

Newsweek also quotes a line from one of the Stones' new songs targetting Bush. It's titled Sweet Neo Con:

"You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/You call yourself a patriot, well I think you're full of s—t."

A Bigger Bang will be released on Sept. 6.

3. Keith's fear might be from the
fact that his wife is staunch republican. Just read his newer biography.

5. Excellent question and point well taken.
The way I see it, in recent weeks the tide has finally turned. If the new Stones song is even halfway decent, word of mouth and the Internet will drive their CD up the charts.

The result will be that Mick and the boys will have their biggest hit in many a year.

Are you old enough to remember how powerful music was in the late 60s? I'd bet most Stones fans still do.

:applause:

They choose what gets played, and politically, are in bed with this administration.

10. I wish- I'll have to settle for I-Tunes or the CD this time.
Perhaps I can get somthing together for the San Francisco show- depending on my bank account.

But I've seen them many times- Wilco is opening for them in Atlanta- they are always a real hoot to see.

I'm certainly buying that song on I-tunes as soon as it is available.

12. Intriguing.
Quite a few right-wingers are fans of classic rock. I wonder how this will go over with 'em.

17. Wow Jagger's ire at Bush should net us all the young people's votes
but alas, most have never heard of Jagger, and the rest do not bother to
vote.
