Did Anyone See The Blame-Clinton (9-11) Crap on CBS?
At least I think it was on CBS. They said 4 of ther 9-11 terrorists were known to the U.S. and under the Clinton administration, the FBI was told to keep quiet about it, therefore, it was Clinton's fault. WTF???

DU (there are several) it wasn't Clinton, but the DOD. But yes, they didn't mention Clinton on the show I saw, but they did say the Gov't knew about Atta and his group during 1998/99. As soon as I heard it, the first thing I thought was, aha, they'll blame Clinton again!

Edit: The guy that was being interviewed was a Rep. from Eastern Pa. (a Pug) and it was on Wolff Blitzer's new show today.

3. But Richard Clarke said the Clinton admin tried to tell Bush and Condi
that al-qaeda should be their top priority...but they wouldn't listen to him.

because the guys were here on legit visas. (This was CNN)

They just pile it deeper all the time, huh?

Like a visa that looks good on paper exonerates any "activity" a person may be involved in. :eyes:

EDIT: the geniuses in the newsroom need to remember whose "watch" the WTC and Pentagon attacks happened on!

5. Bob Scheiffer strikes again!
Edited on Tue Aug-09-05 09:12 PM by wurzel
He gave equal credence to a nameless "CIA source" with the known people on the 911 Commitee. Guys like Kerry, Kean, and Hamilton. Yup. Scheiffer is quite a "reporter"

9. If I remember correctly, the US was a "Free Country" in 1999,
and our "Freedoms" were protected. If the individuals identified had committed any CRIMES, they should have been picked up and prosecuted. BUT IN PRE-BUSH* AMERICA, you had to commit a crime to be put in jail.
The MOST that could be done would be to put these people on a "Watch List" that was distributed to Airlines and other agencies so that they could be intercepted BEFORE they did ANY harm.

Such a "Watch List" was proposed by Al Gore in the Gore Commission on Airline Safety which was VOTED DOWN by a PARTY LINE REPUBLICAN VOTE in 1998!!!

3.7. The FAA should work with airlines and airport consortia to ensure that all passengers are positively identified and subjected to security procedures before they board aircraft.

Curb-side check-in, electronic ticketing, advance boarding passes, and other initiatives are affecting the way passengers enter the air transportation system. As improved security procedures are put into place, it is essential that all passengers be accounted for in that system, properly identified and subject to the same level of scrutiny. The Commission urges the FAA to work with airlines and airport consortia to ensure that necessary changes are made to accomplish that goal.

Had the Republicans supported the "Anti-Terrorism" recommendations of the Gore Commission, the attacks of 9-11 would probably have been prevented!

The Media may try to spin this as a Clinton failure, but the REAL FAILURE belongs to the Bush*/Republicans for discontinuing the
"Anti-Terrorism" policies of the Democrats under Bill Clinton!

15. No Sh*t. Where's the story about the CIA funding Osama through the ISI?
Do they really want to go there? Because if they do then maybe it's time to open up the whole fucking can of worms. Maybe we can get a REAL investigation into what happened on 911.

12. You REALLY need to provide some documentation.
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 12:45 AM by bvar22
Link Please????

Sean Hannity, Fox News, Rush, and FreeRepublic Threads are NOT credible sources!

Bill Clinton wasn't worried about offending the Saudis when he sent the Cruise Missles after Osama in 1999.

14. Ha ha!
Nice try, AJ14. But around here, you'll need to provide links and documentation. Otherwise, someone could just state flat out something like, "Well, it's true the outgoing Clinton administration didn't bring in a bunch of people who hadn't committed any actual crimes, but they did leave word for the incoming Bush administration that its biggest security concern was going to be a bunch of terrorists organized under the banner of Al Qaeda. Well, just eight months into his term, Bush had proved himself to be such an incompetent frat boy squatting in the Oval Office that had been given to him but which he hadn't earned, and those terrorists had gotten a pretty good chance to size him up. The result was the September 11 attacks, and Bush STILL hasn't gotten the guy he claims was responsible for them and it's been almost four years."

Oops, far too many checkable facts there, I guess. Seems your delusions about how buddy-buddy the Clintons were with the Saudi royal family are actually true about the Bushes. Remember George swapping spit and holding hands with the Saudi foreign minister at the pig farm?

Better find a new line, AJ14.

13. Everyone who hasn't yet see the FRONTLINE show on John O'Neill...
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 01:10 AM by Up2Late
...should take 90 minutes and watch this show, “The Man Who Knew,” it can be watch on-line at the link below:

<http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/knew/>

(from the FRONTLINE Website)
"When the Twin Towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001, among the thousands killed was the one man who may have known more about Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda than any other person in America: John O'Neill.

The former head of the FBI's flagship antiterrorism unit in New York City, O'Neill had investigated the bombings of the U.S. embassies in Africa and the USS Cole in Yemen. For six years, he led the fight to track down and prosecute Al Qaeda operatives throughout the world. But his flamboyant, James Bond style and obsession with Osama bin Laden made him a controversial figure inside the buttoned-down world of the FBI. Just two weeks before Sept. 11, O'Neill left the bureau for a job in the private sector -- as head of security at the World Trade Center. He died there after rushing back into the burning towers to aid in the rescue efforts.

FRONTLINE's “The Man Who Knew,” chronicles John O'Neill's story -- a story that embraces the clash of personalities, politics and intelligence, offering important insights into both the successes and failures of America's fight against terrorism...."
