Iraq To Forge Alliance With Iran
Just heard Iraq is going to contract with Iran to enter into new energy policy so that Iraq can get electricity to Iraq.

Anyone have more information on this???

1. No, but its been in the news lately
Iran and Iraq are becoming friends. Its not really surprising since they are both mostly Shia.

I bet Bush is choking over this. He shouldn't try eating pretzels for a while.

2. If true, this boosts Iran's claim of wanting nuclear to make electricity
From all accounts, Iraq infrastructure is in shambles and they are in dire need of electricity so this would make sense that they might turn to Iran.

3. Iraq and Iran already forged a Defense and Economic pact last month
Iraq, or specifically the Shiites, want Iran to help train their troops. Iran did help train the Badr Corps. I guess the Shiites are preparing for an early US withdrawal and/or an attack on US permanent bases in Iraq.

4. We've paid...what? Almost $200,000,000,000 and almost 2000
dead and upward to 30,000 wounded and are to be held responsible for killing 100,000 innocent civilians and for what? So that Iran can have a strong like-minded partner in the Middle East? "Was it worth it? You bet!"

10. The "was it worth it" quotation is from George Bush,
when he said that all of the US sacrifices have been worth it. Some sarcasm just doesn't need a smilie...:hi:

6. Former Bushco buddy and now Iran buddy Chalabi is in Iraqi govt now
Lest we forget, Chalabi the master manipulator who roped in the neocons and Judy Miller (NY Times) in promoting this war, is a top player now with the Iran/Iraq connections:

"Ahmed Chalabi, the former leader and exile who has veered between hero and villain both in the United States and Iraq, is back in power.

Last year Mr Chalabi, long the sweetheart of Bush Administration neo-conservatives, was charged with counterfeiting in Iraq, was wanted for embezzlement in Jordan and was accused by US intelligence of spying for Iran.

His arch rival, Iyad Allawi, became interim prime minister last May. Paul Bremer, then effectively the US governor of Iraq, sent armed Americans to back an ignominious Iraqi police raid of Mr Chalabi's home and offices that same month. Mr Chalabi had to flee the country.

Mr Chalabi is now a deputy prime minister and, a man once convicted of financial corruption, he has tremendous power over Iraq's finances, in part because his nephew is Finance Minister and an ally, Ibram Bahr al-Uloum, is Oil Minister."

9. Right! It looks like Iran (via Chalabi) played these neocon
numskulls like a 2-dollar banjo... It just beggars the imagination to try and grasp the utter stupidity of these PNAC idiots! Our only consolation (hopefully) is that the Yellow-stain Fascists of Bush's regime have been so discredited that they won't be able to lie us into another war...but the jury is still out on that.

13. Is Anyone Else Out There As Obsessed With Chalabi?
I can't help but thinking of him as absolutely fundamental to making this war come about.

I think he:

a) suckered neo-cons into thinking it would be a cakewalk that would foster democracy and build an alliance with Israel, and

b) provided the fraudulent evidence the administration was "fixed" upon.

I think of the neo-cons as "willing dupes."

Chalabi is the connection between Downing Street and Treasongate.
