Veterans and Military Families Turning Against Bush
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 09:44 AM by LocalDem
Hackett. Sheehan. Now a Lt. Col. in the Air Force has been busted for defacing cars that sport Bush stickers.

Can you imagine if the Republicans alienated military families? Their coalition could be in serious, long-term trouble.

1. There are two veterans in my house that are against Bush
My wife and I both oppose him and his policies.

But the Republicans always separate the wheat from the chaff, don't you know? Kerry may have been a decorated war veteran, but that didn't keep them from finding fault with him.

Bush was AWOL and yet they swear allegiance to him.

3. Yeah, it's crazy
how that happens. But I think that it would be a lot harder to pull off the 'swift boat' crap today than it was last summer, don't you think? It would seem much harder to shut down debate with their empty posturing about "helping the enemy" when their incompetence is so manifest, I would argue.

2. Wow, I interpreted that totally wrong until I read about the LTC.

5. It is okay they have purple heart bandaids for everyone
The only mystery is why any military person would be caught dead around such people. They are the lowest form of life with the backbones of a jellyfish.

6. Can't stand him myself
But then again, I never could. But even my husband didn't vote for him and he was raised a Republican. Calls him arrogant. Yes, I know that is mild compared to what we call him, but it is a start. Baby steps for militaryHusband.
