At least Nixon had the balls to
go out in the middle of the night to talk with the anti-VietNam-War protesters . . . that much, we can give him.

Not W.

He can't get in his air-conditioned limo (or white truck) and motor on down the road a couple of miles to get a photo-op of himself meeting with a REAL mother.

Yet he could fly all the way in from Texas to sign a bill which could have been done right at his desk in Spider-Hole Texas . . .

1. I thought that was just in Oliver Stone's movie.
Did he really do that?

3. Things have deteriorated alot since Nixon haven't they?
I never felt like Nixon despised the Constitution - undercut it yes but fundamentally opposed to it - no.

4. Plus, 3,000 people weren't killed because of a blowjob in 1968.
If bush goes out in public like this, it might give the impression that things aren't as dangerous as they're letting on.

8. The Thing That Impressed Me About Nixon's Account
was that by all appearances, Nixon had a deep belief in the rightness of his policy and was really struggling with the obvious fact that huge numbers of people were deeply opposed. And was willing to actually go out and debate it with some of his bitterest opponents.

(I learned about this from a letter Nixon wrote to a friend about the incident, so it was in his own words.)

9. Nixon did so just days after the Kent State shootings; this was probably
weighing heavily on his conscience.

10. Fuck Nixon. He's lucky that Bush has taken him off the hook as
being the all-time, most despicable and corrupt president ever. That honor now belongs solely to Junior.
