This story is not even registering. Is Iraq so messed up that armed men swooping in in the middle of a sandstorm and overthrowing the Mayor of Iraq's capital city is no big deal?

This ain't the "good news" Bush & Co. wants more reports of, I guess.

:wtf:

"Armed men entered Baghdad's municipal building during a blinding dust storm on Monday, deposed the city's mayor and installed a member of Iraq's most powerful Shiite militia.

The deposed mayor, Alaa al-Tamimi, who was not in his offices at the time, recounted the events in a telephone interview on Tuesday and called the move a municipal coup d'état. He added that he had gone into hiding for fear of his life.

"This is the new Iraq," said Mr. Tamimi, a secular engineer with no party affiliation. "They use force to achieve their goal.""

2. "..and the media never covers the good things"
You're right, where was this story in the MSM?
Oh yeah, the pandas pre-empted it.

I can't imagine how horrible it is there.

3. Nah, just Muscular Democracy

They should have done it the right way and sent the thugs into the vote counting room after the election.

Just bad timing.

4. You're right, thugs in the counting room is Bush & Co's style
Also having election machine companies in your back pocket never hurts, also.

6. Former mayor al-Tamimi is lucky that his head is still on his shoulders.
And that his body is not a bullet-riddles sieve.

10. And they say the good news is never reported
This was wonderful news for the mayor. The headline should have read, "Baghdad mayor NOT summarily executed while being ousted from office".
