Did anyone else hear David Gregory Firing Shots at Paul Hackett?
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 07:08 PM by KoKo01
on Hardball tonight? Gregory was in "Tweety Mode" playing the part of the "Ultimate Repug" firing shot after shot, cannonball after cannonball at Hackett...and YOU KNOW WHAT? Hackett shot back with Nuclear Bombs...he shot Gregory (in full MSNBC WHORE SPIN MODE) off the stage.'

Hackett should RUN AGAINST DeWine for Senator in Ohio! Let's get that support and money going for him. He's one of the best spokespersons I've seen on Dem side since Howard Dean!

He was just amazing. I had to cough down Gregory's whoring/media spin/Tweety sycophanting ...and know that Gregory's trying to keep his whore media job...to stay with it it...But the end result was Hackett was MAGNIFICENT!

AND...I say this as someone who has never seen or heard Hackett before.

A shining light for our Democratic Left...give it all we've got! He's plain spoken, knows his facts, isn't intimidated by the "media" and has a "mission inside himself."

Who Could Ask for Anything More. :-)'s

2. OK....which part of the show, i.e., in which 15 minute quarter does he
appear? If it's the first 15, I might stay up for it.

5. Hackett appeared on Tweety, I think in the 2nd Quarter, but the whole
thing is a ultimate "Whore Fest" so if you can stomach it...gives a view of American Media today.

I was so excited thinking David Gregory was a NEW VOICE of CRITICISM against the Chimp because he performed so well in three Press Conferences with Scotty McClellan...where Gregory grilled Scotty up and down about Plame Leak. Gregory was featured on MSNBC/NBC with his grilling and I thought this meant MSNBC/NBC might be turning toward the LIGHT.

Sadly, it seems Gregory was being monitored for his "Q" Factor in the ratings to see if he could be "groomed" for STAR STAUS on the MSNBC Cables.

You see, in my belief that our Media isn't ALL WHORE/ALL THE TIME...I thought they would "turn around" and Gregory's reporting would mean a NEW AGE a "Kick Back" against Right Wing Media in the Whore Cables.

I WAS WRONG....I WAS WRONG.... Gregory was only a "ploy." He spoke up to enhance his "Q" factor. Gregory wasn't wasting his time on "IMUS in the Morning" for Nothing...here. He has been carefully grooming himself to take a position in the long line of Whore Media Sychophants.

I like Gregory...but just because he's likeable is why he has been given the chance to replace "Tweety" (of the "declining ratings) but in the end he will always be "Tweety/Light" and we shouldn't expect anything else.

I was suckered again...hoping against hope that someone out there in "WhoreMediaLand" would see the need for more "Balanced Coverage."

Sucker Me Once, Sucker Me Twice...and I'm "Suckered Forever." :-(

6. Oh C'mon....
Gregory may have had a list of media-whore questions, but he did the same thing with Katherine "Tammy Faye does my makeup" Harris in the segment just before Major Hackett was on.

Hackett does an incredible job and it's WELL WORTH watching! :bounce:

4. David Gregory pitched him the chance to make those statements.
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 07:20 PM by Sparkly
"Yeah but all those people voted." Seemed half-hearted at best, and gave Hackett the chance to refute the GOP talking points. I thought it was good.

(Full whore mode would include things like, "People are saying you're an opportunist" or "Five years ago you said you had Wheaties for breakfast when in fact it was Cheerios" or "How often don't you go to church" -- stuff like that.)

I can't imgaine what david gregory would have to be "firing shots" at Paul Hackett for? He's an Iraqi Veteran..aren't we suppose to have a little bit of freakin' respect for them?

Don't we wait awhile before we cut them off of their benefits and spit on them?

15. And you believe something Don Imus and his moronic sidekicks say?
I don't.

(Yes, of course gays and lesbians sometimes marry and have children — although it's not as important in today's world to do so.)

11. The folks beating up of Gregory are looking for a Dem whore.
We all spend hours bitching about the RW media and how they never aske tough questions of Pubs. Now you're complaining that Gregory asked tough questions of both sides?

David does a very good job as host of Hardball.

I don't want him to go lite on either side. If a candidate can't take it, they shouldn't be there!

As has been said many times...Politics is not a tea party.

16. Just about a week ago, lots of DUers were posting floaty-hearts about
Gregory and saying how much better he'd be as a permanent host than Matthews. Short honeymoon, eh?

19. Not so...
I didn't have a problem with him today.. He probably asked the list of idiotic questions they wanted him to ask.

It could've been ANYONE firing away questions at Hackett and he still would've done great. :headbang:

BTW.. wonder what happened to Matthews? Gregory avoided the question when Bob Shrum asked him why he was out again..

13. I don't mind Democrats being asked tough questions
It gives them a chance to show what they are made of. If they are good, and honest, and tell the truth, they will come off looking better. If they can't answer tough questions, then they have no place on the public stage.

What I HATE is when Republicans are asked softball questions without any followup.

18. I agree with you. But tonight, Davie asked some questions of
Mrs. Revlon that few other hosts would have asked.

I only recall one. "Lots of people say George Bush owes you because of what you did during the 2000 voting."

Now, common, do you really think Russert or Tweety would have said that?

I don't want any host beine easy on either side, and I think David is doing a good job!

21. Please Post what you saw! Hackert was great....let me know what you
think was a "critique" of my post about Gregory doing the RW attack.

I think Gregory was working for "DA Man." Still...it was the typical Repug ratatat firing line of questions that Dems always get but Repugs as guests on those shows never do.

Thanks for watching the re-run!

24. I saw the same thing, but read it totally differently
It seemed to me Gregory was lobbing Republican Talking Points at Maj. Hackett so the good Major could hit each one out of the park. There was no confrontation. No taunting. No follow-up from Gregory. Just softball lob after softball lob.

I saw Gregory more like a warm-up pitcher throwing fat, sweet ones down the pipe for the batter to take warm-up shots. Not like Nolan Ryan reaching for victory in the bottom of the 8th in game 7 and throwing red hot heat.

26. Exactly. Gregory set up 'em, and Hackett knocked 'em down.
It was excellent.

If it were just two guys agreeing with each other, it wouldn't have as much impact.

27. His lobbing sure made Hackert look good. He's quick with an answer,
and just the kind of candidate we've all been hoping for. At least some of us have been hoping for candidates who can give back what the media throws at them and look better than the interviewer.

You're probably correct about Gregory lobbign the Talking Points so Hackett could hit em out of the park. I just wish that Repugs would get the same treatment that Democrats always do on these shows.

I'm hoping that Gregory will turn out to be as fair as many of us think...but he still works for the "Corporation." sigh...
