RE: the anti-Cindy BBQ - Who is the Commander at Ft. Hood?
Since it has been reported that the personnel at Ft. Hood are "allowed" to attend this anti-Cindy BBQ, would not permission for this been given by the Commander at Ft. Hood?

Although this BBQ is wearing the sheep's clothing of a "pro-troops" rally, it's clearly being advertised as an anti-Cindy protest/demonstration, and the fact that the idea for it came up a few days ago pretty much confirms it.

So where does the Ft. Hood Commander stand on this? Has he given permission for personnel to attend in uniform? Have any of the personnel been ORDERED to attend? Have any of the personnel been ordered/told NOT to attend Cindy's sit-in or not to attend in uniform?

As I understand it, Casey was based at Ft. Hood, so he was one of "theirs"... I'm finding it hard to wrap my head around the idea of the Commander at Ft. Hood being ok with personnel attending a rally that is clearly an affront to the mother of one of "theirs" and an insult to other mothers of one of "theirs" that agrees with Cindy (but stranger things have happened).

So.... who is the Commander at Ft. Hood? Can he be contacted? Interviewed? I want to know where he fits in to the equation here, and whatever his stance is about this should clearly be known by the general public.

2. Reported (in several DU threads) that the BBQ has been cancelled
due to lack of interest.

Never doubt that speaking out helps! :D

Actually, I believe it was due to "to much interest", by all of us!
While some us could not be there physically, we do have email and phones!

Way to DU them, and all the other blogs that helped out.

5. I'll be damned!
Canceled for lack of interest... that is so... BAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!

Free food and they still couldn't drum up any support.

Now what are they going to do with all those burgers? I think they should send them over to Camp Casey so they won't end up wasted.

4. Ft. Hood web page.
http://www.hood.army.mil/fthood/

I could not find any info on the commander there, but there is a phone listing that could be a good starting point.
