The "Slavering, Pitiful CNN "Situation Room" is trying to Corrupt us!
I watched CNN's "Situation Room" for over an hour tonight. I have to admit my TV viewing is limited but when DU'ers post stuff I tune back in thinking I might have missed something.

My view of the last hour and a half was that Clinton was such a HUGE HIT as recorded by "Shill/Cafferty" that they REPEATED an earlier interview I saw reported here on DU with Clinton. I tuned in so late yet they "repeated the 'Interview with Bill.'"

Said to me with "Time/Warner's" stock in the tank according to CNBC reports that this whole "revamp" is to get folks like "Us" back as viewers.

Blitzer did a "BLOG ROLLCALL" and some of his female "slaves" had "Brit Accents" as did some of the males in his NEW CNN SITUATION ROOM which is supposed to report INTERNATIONAL NEWS!

I give CNN some credit for going with the different "accents" to disguise the "news as usual" and there WAS a TEENY venturing out to try to balance the "Blogosphere News" (what WE are READING) as counterpoint to what "CNN REPORTS AND YOU DECIDE" and they did give some great "repeat coverage to Clinton and Cindy Sheehan" but the CYNIC in me said to myself: "You don't give shit about Clinton or Sheehan...your stock is in the tank...your ratings are down...so you are giving us the "ONE DEMOCRATIC NIGHT" in the last two months of your reporting just to "sucker us in."

I thought the new CNN EXPERIMENT might have "legs" and that the e-mails must have gotten Wolfie to repeat the Clinton segment twice because of heavy Pro-Clinton traffic on CNN's site....

But, in my heart I understood not to JUMP on the CNN Bandwagon just yet..even with their total "revamp" of programming.

Best to wait it out. I'm happy with the Blogs where you can go and read..and at least you get "Nuance."

Senator Hillary in '08 relentlessly!

2. I'm in the SITUATION ROOM.
You're in the SITUATION ROOM. We're all in the SITUATION ROOM. You have been watching the SITUATION ROOM. Stay tuned tomorrow for more from the SITUATION ROOM.

How many times do you think Wolfie said SITUATION ROOM? I hope they tone that down next week.

3. Oh hell, that's just a marketing tactic. Repear the name so people
remember it! No big deal.

I must admit, I like it much better than the old Inside Politics, Cross Fire and Wolff's old show.

I'll give it a chance.

10. Whats really pitiful...is that we are lacking the Bob Newharts and others
who could put this "shit" we are living through into some kind of perspective. Our whole Culture has been assaulted and is sort of "road kill" on the street compared to the "vibrancy" of an earlier time.

I just don't get what the hell happened... I wish I could understand it.

Why does everyone want to be either a "Left Wing Clone or a "Right Wing Clone" today? What happened to us "Creatives?" Shouldn't we have a voice? Those of us who "pick a little here...a little there..and think and discuss...and then "form our OWN conclusions?"

I don't know...it's all so digusting one just wants to leave it...

8. They will try and lull us back into submissive trust
prior to the next election...when they will once again manipulate the shit out of the voting public.

Plus, it's still Hillary all of the time, with great glee, I might add.

oh, and....no such thing as a reformed Corporate whore.
Once a hoe, always a hoe!

13. "Lulling us into Submissive Trust." Isn't that the truth of it.
Here in NC our Dem Governor just at the last minute over-road all our efforts to get "Verified Paper Ballots" approved. He pulled a "fast one" saying that ONLY HE HAD POWER to appoint the ELECTION COMMISSION...and HE would go with the "default"..those who support DRE/Touch Screen and the Promoters.

A Democratic Governor sold us "down the river." And those of us who "paid for all literature, attended all the NC Assembly Meetings were "sold down the river in another "midnight deal" which was a DEM Midnight and NOT a Delay deal...here in my state they did this "dirty deed to us."

It all stinks...

15. oooow that's bad!
The same thing happened in Georgia; it was a Dem SoS who sold out the vote. Now she's running for governor.

Tucker Carlson.

16. Exactly...but why are we of a "differing opinion" being forced into that?
To choose betweeN Tucker Carlson, Wolf Blitzer or Joe Scarborough and Faux?

In that mix and the "many other combinations DU'ers could come up with" ...what REALLY is THE Choice? :shrug?

4. I think that everything wrong with CNN can be traced back to Wolf Blitzer
And the Situation Room is proof--that show is the epitome of Wolf Blitzer. No news, just a bunch of busy screens in the background that sure can flash a bunch of headlines and movies, but don't actually inform us of everything. And the way they have that stupid pulsating background going behind anyone whose talking...it's like watching Fox News; it's disgusting.

18. Yeah...it's was "lots of glitz" and tonight it seemed to tilt toward Dems.
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 07:06 PM by KoKo01
BUT...in the end the segments were so short there wasn't time for discussion, and they left out so much information that could have "intrigued and audience" to really understand the issues.

I do have to give them some "credit" for the "Blog Mention." If every CNN Viewer went to Josh Marshall's Blog they would get an "earful" of truth..and they did give his blog a goodly amount of airtime.

So....maybe they are "dipping toes in water" about Blogs and Liberal/Progressives?

If I wasn't so "Jaded from watching them throw a "bone or two at us" and then leave us to "starve on he sidewalks" I might have more hope for this show "THE SITUATION ROOM."

As it is..with ME...it's kinda wait and see and figure it will turn out to be the same WHORE FEST the rest of CNN and MSNBC/GE's LOSING Ventures have become in the past.

I'm still comfortable with my "Liberal/Dem Blogs" so why do I need Blitzer's/Glitzer's...to listen to.

it’s the same show but now it’s in front of a big screen TV.

I felt betrayed by CNN's coverage of the democratic convention. I watch Lou Dobbs, but the rest of them have no credibility any longer. Lou is the same now as he always was, a fiscally responsible republican who has no qualms about criticizing his party.
