Out of the mouths of scientists
"I think the general public simply has no understanding of just how badly they can be fooled by their own minds. This sounds arrogant but consider that the entire advertising industry exists because consumers can be easily seduced by movie stars hawking products on TV." -Sten Odenwald, "The Astronomy Cafe"

This, and similar truths, should be constant scroll during any BushCo or related broadcast or press release. A Rumsfeld quote in "Control Room" is quite similar, and telling.

I've been following Elizabeth Loftus' work for some time...

http://faculty.washington.edu/eloftus/

Great resource on her work - check it out.

"Loftus has spent most of her life steadily amassing a clear and brilliant body of work showing that memory is amazingly fragile and inventive. Her studies on more than 20,000 subjects are classics that have toppled some of our most cherished beliefs. She has shown that eyewitness testimony is often unreliable, that false memories can be triggered in up to 25 percent of individuals merely by suggestion, and that memory can be interfered with and altered by simply giving incorrect post-event information."

3. Such as mentioning Saddam in the same breath as 9/11 over and over
and over?

5. And "'Bingo' was his name-O"
Mass programming has come a long way.

I don't consider myself very susceptible yet even I find myself lured in once in a while.

6. Remember that the "power of suggestion" only applies where a
person already roams.. Getting a person to go against their most deeply held beliefs requires promises of even more important gain, such as immortality.

Not that any organization would ever stoop to such manipulation...

7. You mean like to be delivered from death and
receive immortal bodies?

Like not having to suffer death and be whisked off to a magical place were everything is perfect and wonderful?

Gosh... I can't imagine anyone falling for that...

8. I mean.. You could convince people to put up with any amount of pain
with promises like that. Always ask, who profits?

10. Considering the Inquisition and witch burnings, both.
But let's stick to how BushCo somehow convince people that there were WMD or Saddam ties to 9/11... This current atrocity may yet match the past.
