"Military service isn't for our son. It isn't for our kind of people,"

Staff Sgt. Jason Rivera, 26, a Marine recruiter in Pittsburgh, went to the home of a high school student who had expressed interest in joining the Marine Reserve to talk to his parents.

It was a large home in a well-to-do suburb north of the city. Two American flags adorned the yard. The prospect's mom greeted him wearing an American flag T-shirt.

"I want you to know we support you," she gushed.

Rivera soon reached the limits of her support.

"Military service isn't for our son. It isn't for our kind of people," she told him.

I saw this first on dailykos without a link. I wasn't sure it was real so I searched for a link. Unbelievably it's true. This is why they vote for Bush... they think exactly like him and the rest of the Bush dynasty.

While Cindy is camped at Bush's 5 mile perimeter waiting for an audience for his mighty the chimp, to end a war that is killing our men and women, Bush supporters gush that fighting for the chimp's "noble" cause "isn't for our kind of people."

This defines our great red-blue divide more than anything I've seen thus far.

1. Way to support the troops "Mom".
Probably has a gazillion of those yellow, made-in-China magnets on the backs of her SUVs. What a wimp!

Here is an additional thread I posted last night on this article. This article is so insane it is worthy of double posts.

5. As importantly...
... I see nothing in this article about the difference between serving one's country, and serving the very limited and oligarchical interests in the current wars being waged by this country.

That's implicit in the class distinctions spelled out in "Military service isn't for our son. It isn't for our kind of people," but it ought to be spelled out. Lots of people don't want their kids to enlist, simply to be cannon fodder to further the profits of ExxonMobil, Bechtel, Halliburton and their ilk.

We know the wars were and are based on gross lies. No one should have to donate their children in the furtherance of illegal and immoral wars.

6. Other Priorities People
Just like their leadership.

They do like to write out their names on big fat republican donations checks.
