Someone asked about dems supporting a war with Iran. What do you
folks thing the reaction of other countries will be? In particular, China and Russia?

I think they'll throw a shit fit.

1. I hope they do....
The U.S. is rapidly becoming an aggressor nation that is one of the greatest threats to world peace. Mad dogs should be put down.

2. Maybe it will appall the world to the point...
...where they have to take care of us.

Wouldn't it be poetic justice if the French had to invade and free us from dictatorial rule?

10. even more frightening is Chimp has discussed USING tactical nuke strikes
to shut down nuke sites in Iran.

And I think he is stupid enough to do it too...

14. I think there is much propaganda surrounding the ability of Iran
to truly do the deed. People don't want war, dictators do. I think like Venezuela, Iran doesn't trust the US at all. We lie about why we do anything now a days. I hate it because we really don't know who the good guys are anymore.

5. What a dreadful chess game it will be!
There is speculation that Iran might level
oil fields in response to a US invasion.
The possibilities are mind boggling.
You can bet that Iran has readied a multi-level response.
We are not going to like it.

of Iran. In no uncertain terms.

11. I think they had better find the fortitude to
to say NO. I doubt that Americans will let him. Except for the exceptionally challenged bush cult followers. I predict that Nixon and Johnson will have both left office with a better reputation and higher approval ratings than the shrub. My feeling is we will see some changes by the end of the year. I also think there is a real division going on within the republican party. They may be the ones who will bring the shrubbery down. Here's to hoping.:toast:

17. They brought Nixon down ...

Regardless of all the right-wing, whining and complaining to the contrary, the people who brought down Nixon were Republicans. The so-called "liberal media" published the stories. Democrats made a fuss, but it took Republicans to tell Nixon his days were done.

12. try this article ...
this article provides an excellent analysis of neo-con, PNAC, policy in Iraq and Iran ... it's a bit long; it's a bit complicated; it's a bit scarey ...

http://world.mediamonitors.net/layout/set/print/content/view/full/17451

if you want a short answer, neo-con plans for Iraq and Iran were, and are, motivated by oil, petrodollars, competition from China and Europe and a grab for control of the Middle East ... the bottom line that motivated, and will continue to motivate, imperialistic American foreign policy is GREED ... it really is that simple ...

16. I am sure that Hillary, Biden, and other pukes will vote for IWR2
and they would tell us that their vote for the Iran War Resolution is not a vote for war but a vote giving Bush the authority to blah, blah, blah.

The question really is, will we stand silently while the same idiots that made the Iraq war possible, and that includes Congress, bring about another war in that region.

18. I'm all for it
Let's parachute Smirk and Rice and Limbaugh and Cheney and Rummy and all the rest of the hawks in there, armed with popguns. Then broadcast it live on all networks. Five minutes of GREAT entertainment.

19. Drum beats for Regime Change in Iran but
China,Russia, Venezuala, Europe can devastate Amerika via economic means.

A war with Iran would send Amerika into a Depression that would make the last Great Depression look like a recession. I don't believe that the Amerikan Oligarchy will allow the Bush Regime to go forward. The CIA or another agency will take covert action to stop the PNAC cabal.

aid Iran with arms, similiar to how North Viet Nam got army equipment, SAMS, and jet interceptors. I'll be suprised if they don't.

22. They have longstanding agreements to protect Iran from invasion
What do you suppose their reaction would be, especially since it will again be an illegal unprovoked invasion.
