5. It's crooked
Everytime I try to watch it, I have to lean my head to one side or the other- the picture is crooked! Does it bother me just because I'm 45 or what?

So far, it's not for me - I wish Gore had made a political channel.

7. I don't think so...
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 06:15 PM by emdee
I thought it was that way on purpose. Ok, just changed the channel and it looked straight but it also looked like an altogether different show than I usually see. I will flip over more often to make sure. So far, it seems to be targeted for people younger than I am.

edited for a silly typo

11. I want a channel to counter Fox News.
I'd want the liberal channel to be more honest (not cite bogus statistics like Bill O'Reilly) but have graphics and hosts and sound-effects which attract as big an audience.

9. A little frenetic
So far I've seen a number of really interesting segments (pods) and I like it but, it's obviously designed for a younger crowd. "Catchy" background music on every pod is tiring. I can only watch in short bursts. Host I've seen is pretty boring!

Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 06:51 PM by Maine-ah
They're raping us on cable costs (internet too) and most of their line-up sucks. But, Warner Bros. (I'm pretty sure it's WB) just bought them and we are too expect the change over this winter.

On edit: Does WB carry it?

13. I keep thinking it's a new version of "A Current Affair"
Oh well...I wasn't impressed the few moments I watched.

Drab, repetitive and it offered nothing new.

I expected more from Gore, being a reporter himself, alas, he's been out of practice too long it would seem.

17. I don't think so.
Their system is that the public can upload videos, and the public votes on them at the website.

I haven't seen any videos about Cindy Sheehan uploaded to Current.

A person needs to show "releases" from anyone recognizable in a video to Current before they will let a video be voted on, and so you can't just film a crowd of protestors and get it displayed the Current website.

18. Battle for America - Watch this piece
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 11:35 AM by Seabiscuit
If you click on the screening videos , I suggest you watch The Battle for America. It kicks ass and its so true. Isn't it always us, the democrats, progessives, leftists and decent people around our country who pay the price to make this country great?

http://www.current.tv/studio/screening

As far as Current TV, I enjoy it and I'm in my 60's but I wish it wouldn't repeat over and over again days and days. I wish there would segments where it was real time live and covering things of the day. The "Camp Casey" for example is a major event/movement and how about the new drumbeats to war that has already started in the media for Iran. Overall, Current TV is interesting and real and that's what I like.

P.S. I'm glad for a semi-news channel they didn't use those scrolling crap on the bottom of the screen it drives me nuts!

21. Unusual, fresh and creative programming.....
which seems fascinating to me.

The segments are very interesting....particularly to those who like documentary programming.

But aimed at a youngish generation; 18-29. That part I have a bit of a problem with. The MTV generation, en masse, may not appreciate this type of programming and might shrink the audience to a unacceptable level, considering the market segment it appears to aim at.

For those with the interest span of an ant.....might be a problem reaching them, and there are a lot of those around.

23. Sorry I lost NewsWorld International for it
On it's own, I guess I'm just too old for those little "pods" too short and frenetic for me and I guess I just don't relate to most of it.as just another thing to watch, I might feel differently but I lost the only real alternative to corporate american news bullshit to get it. And I'd figure al Gore would do a bit better. Bring back NWI!

Too perky and trying too hard to be hip and cool and whatever else the marketers have told them to be.
