Dated article for those who accuse liberals of loving the terrorists...
from Human Rights Watch, hardly a conservative group...

Hamas Must End Attacks Against Civilians
Cease Use of Qassam Rockets
(Jerusalem, June 9, 2005) -- Hamas must cease immediately “Qassam” rocket and mortar attacks against civilian areas, Human Rights Watch said today.

Hamas mortar shells and Qassam rockets killed three civilian workers (two Palestinian and one Chinese) and injured an Israeli woman and her two children in an attack that struck a packing plant in the Israeli settlement of Ganei Tal in Gaza and the Israeli town of Sderot yesterday. Both Israeli and Palestinian analysts suspect that Hamas’s continued use of mortar and Qassam attacks against civilians is an expression of the group’s displeasure at the cancellation of local election results in localities that favored Hamas and the recent postponement of the Palestinian Legislative Council elections.

“Hamas has repeatedly failed to respect a fundamental rule of international humanitarian law by attacking civilians and civilian objects,” said Sarah Leah Whitson, executive director of the Middle East and North Africa Division of Human Rights Watch. “It is unacceptable for Hamas to express its unhappiness with the political situation by firing on civilians.”

1. amnesty international, human rights watch, the ACLU
are very clear and consist. They take no sides, but critisize any attacks on civillians

It is those that control our government that likes to distinguish which terrorists we condemn, and which ones we ignore

2. I have always believed Hamas to be a terrorist organization
and I lose my patience real fast with people who always turn the blame back on to Israel and the Sharon government every time Hamas sponsors a suicide bombing. Just come on to this board and dare to condemn Hamas for doing it, and sure enough somebody will reply by saying "Ho hum, that's well, unfortunate, that Israeli civilians were killed, but the Israelis did this (example), and did that (example), so they brought it on themselves." Damn! Some people simply find it impossible to believe that one CAN criticize suicide bombings by Palestinians AND oppose the policies of Israel at the same time. It's called walking and chewing gum at the same time. I encourage all of you to try it sometime!

I do not support Sharon and the Likud Party. I believe them to be the Israeli version of our own neo-conservatives. I support statehood for the Palestinians. Having said that, I will never, ever, make whiny excuses for some 16 year old kid strapping explosives to his body and blowing up civilians on a bus or in a town square.

3. Hear, hear!
Thank you for that, bluestateguy. Answering wanton violence with more wanton violence resolves nothing. BushCo and their "We don't care" macho mob have adopted the terrorist mindset.

And they achieve precisely nothing.
